Since several years, I use some white vinegar as replacement for fabric softener which contains chemicals and animal products. It’s cheaper too. No issues so far.

Re: Tipping washing machine delivery driver(s)
I tip if I think the person deserves it. I hope we don´t get into the culture of tips being expected. Why should we tip delivery drivers just because DHL, Amazon etc pays shitty wages. When was the last time anyone tipped a server in McDonalds, bank worker etc etc. When you tip your waitress what a...

Re: Digital Exclusion part 1 The Euro soccer in Berlin
Reminds me of Euro2004 in Portugal. We had paper tickets to some games, but not for the semi-final The Netherlands- Portugal. We bought 3 tickets from a Romanian mafioso for €800 cash in the street. He had two women with him, marihuana and a bodyguard. He could arrange anything we want he said. I to...

Re: Lost passport about to travel...
We flew to France on Monday. Never had to show any ID in any form at airports or on 2 flights. I was shocked. That is not advice, just our experience. That is actually the norm within Schengen. The Bavarian borders, however, are checked by the police quite intense if you come by car or train. This ...

Re: Weißwurst - how do you eat yours?
I eat it regularly for breakfast on Sundays with lots of sweet mustard and Brezen. Definitely not after noon. I’m skinning too. I cut it almost in half and I push the meat with the knife out of the skin. Works well for me. In the past we did it in the office as well.

The government decided to have a temporary break on gas and electricity prices called Gaspreisbremse und Strompreisbremse. Did the landlord pass this on to the tenants which would be the right thing to do? https://www.bundesregierung.de/breg-de/schwerpunkte/entlastung-fuer-deutschland/strompreisbrem...

Re: Don't get caught by this latest ATM scam
I know some restaurants in my hood where they allow cards only from €20 upwards. This has to do with fees for the owner. Apparently, this is not an issue in e.g. Sweden or the Netherlands where cash is becoming obsolete. Or the owners have no problem paying all the fees necessary.
