Where did you find Form D1 under www.gov.uk? I went there & searched for "Form D1" & got articles about Driving lecences & Director's conduct. Tell us once cannot be used if the person was living abroad permamently (which I am). Try this https://www.gov.uk/government/publicati...

Did you register his death the British Consul here, because that might smooth that bit out, as they must be used to people dying not being repatriated. So far the German side has not been too bad. My husband spent the first 49 years of his life in the UK, so there are various tiny company pension schemes to deal with as well as a UK life insurance policy. Is is the latter that has this estate declaration. If push comes to shove I will have to wait ...

Sadly my husband passed away and I am dealing with a heap of paperwork. The UK bits are posing some problems as there are forms that need to be signed and stamped by a Commissioner for Oaths/Solicitor/Justice of the peace.
