Re: Why are you unhappy today?
The reason for my unhappiness today is obvious to all who know me. But, I am attempting to keep calm and carry on. I work at the primary school this afternoon helping my immigrant kiddos with their homework, and they always bring me joy.

So sorry to hear you're unwell, although half the country seem to be the same.Robinson100 wrote: ↑Tue Nov 05, 2024 2:51 am I am down with the ´flu at the mo - hit me like a truck last Thursday, and hasn´t moved on yet.
I hope you have a speedy recovery, although my advice would be to take it easy, it can take a few weeks to get over this.

Thanks guys!
energy levels are certainly picking up again now, but the amount of "slime" still hanging around is pretty amazing!
Isn´t there a saying something along the lines of "what doesn´t kill you, makes you stronger"? Can´t say as I feel any stronger yet!

I think it takes a little time between getting out of the kill zone and getting strongerRobinson100 wrote: ↑Wed Nov 06, 2024 8:28 pm Thanks guys!

I'm in the process of getting my citizenship and I'm concerned the next government (CxU/AfD/FDP, ?) will repeal the new citizenship laws that were passed this year, specifically the option of dual citizenship.

Re: Why are you unhappy today?
I had an appointment today for HU (commonly known as TÜV) for my car and last night the door handle from the driver side door stopped working, now the door opens only from outside. Of course the car failed the HU due to the door. I have now a new appointment in January. Positive thing, the only problem was the door, which is good for a 2006 VW Van. Really bad timing, the kind of things that only happen to me.

That was my first thought. Then I felt guilty cuz after the mention of the furry creature I figured I had erred. Glad the kitty
is ok.

I guess the police in the car, behind the end of the Verdi march thought they were doing a good job. They allowed the little car pass. A nice minii a posh München Resident heading home. But then it accelerated and hit 29 people The mother and baby are both dead. How thick are police.

I realise that a mini not usually that deadly, Low profile, etc. I guess for that reason it did not alarm the police.
But possibly that was the point. The people at the back of the trade union marchers were people with babies or children in prams or buggies It is just awful.

They (European politicians) were all kissing Trump's bum when he won the elections - obviously the must diplomatic thing to do (made my skin crawl). Then this overall letdown. And American Nazis advising Germans to vote for the AfD is the last straw.

Re: Why are you unhappy today?
It is looking grim for Ukraine and Europe needs to pull closer with effective action on so many levels and hopefully less bureaucracy. I do worry for concepts like free speech that allows anybody to spout any rubbish - unchecked. Womens rights, reproductive and otherwise. And I am concerned for electronic voting, how easy this is to manipulate. I am mitigating my worries by talking with my daughter who is voting for parliament for the first time and I am proud that she did independent research that did not rely on social media as a main tool for information.
