Re: Question regarding travel health insurance
I'm quite sure travel insurance should suffice for any mishap or illness that requires it. Check24 will compare for you. There's also this, that you can buy after entering Japan: https://www.jnto.go.jp/emergency/eng/mi_guide.html

Re: Inactivity lawsuit against immigration office – Should I send a reminder?
Don't know how it works here but when I sued USCIS for taking too long, they were given 3 months to respond. They tend to lose track of such suits, so the game is to contact their attorney a couple of weeks before the deadline and ask them about it, essentially as a reminded. They are grateful for t...

Re: Kleinunternehmerregelung
Please note that if your business client is non-German, that turnover does not count towards the 25k€/100k€ Kleinunternehmer limits. Oh really? I have been looking for this info. Thanks! So, a non-german (US, in this case) client can pay me whatever and I can remain a Kleinunternehmer? If there are...

Re: End of three years of Aufenthaltstitel...what would be the next step
Contact your ABH and ask them. They will probably tell you to apply for the NE and what documents you need. Thanks, I will do so when I get a little closer to the 3 year mark. (p.s: How is ABH, How do I find who my ABH, and their contact info. Is that the person who interviewed me and approved the ...

Re: Americans - US Passport Renewal & NE
Did you apply online and then they said you must take a TELC B-1 in order to proceed or were you told somehow in advance? It simply isn't clear to me whether this is negotiable or not. If it's not then I've gotta search and find a way to sign up for a B1 test somewhere. Oh, there was no online appl...

Re: Americans - US Passport Renewal & NE
Thx for the support! Gonna begin my online application this week. Registered in late February for the first available spot for the "Leben in DE" test, May 19th. For my NE I was allowed to skip taking a TELC B-1 test by demonstrating language proficiency in other ways (many DaF B2-C1 Vhs c...

Re: Americans - US Passport Renewal & NE
Upon realizing that under the new current laws, that after only 5 rather than 8 years here and being in possession of a NE, I can now apply for German citizenship, I've begun to seriously consider the option. Why? Cuz I can! And, cuz at the moment its EZ PZ to be a dual citizen, which can change on...

Re: The Conviction of Donald J. Trump
This is all making me sick. It's going from bad to worse hourly. They're heiling at CPAC now, and the Musk Rat has our data and is going to train his AI Grok 3 (can you have a MORE dystopian name?) with everything the federal government has about us, and theyre consolidating power. I know there's a ...

Re: Winter Tires (in Winter) new regulations from October 2024
Just leave the AC button on if you have it. Apparently wiping the inside of the windshield with shaving cream works, and there are defoggers from RainX (FogX) and German brands too. Keep the inside clean as prints will make it more difficult to see even with a little fog. Keep a clean towel to wipe ...

Re: used car buying experience/advice
The more requirements you set, the more difficult and stressful will be to buy. Unfortunately, I am already in this trap Took me a year to find a 7-seater with enough technology for a reasonable price. But, I primarily wanted private, because they're usually cheaper, and I know more about cars than...
