Whats up in the East.

Post by Yellow Snow »

Nobody ever posts anything nice about Dresden....it's always about Bavaria and the states in the west of Germany ;)
Dresden is a stunning city with superb people with many beautiful towns and sites on the Elbe. Meissen, Moritzburg, Bad Schandau, Pirna etc etc are postcard pretty, particularly in the spring and summer months. And don't forget we've got the Saechsische Schweiz right on our doorstep. This area is perfect for cycling and strolling, zillions of biergartens.....and our Weihnachtsmarkt is supposed to be the oldest and biggest in Germany!
I've been to Erlangen, Munich, Nuremberg, Bonn, Cologne, Dusseldorf, Hamburg in the past but yet to find a better all round city than Dresden.
For those who haven't been, I'd recommend Dresden to anyone for a city break.
Enjoy the rest of your day. 8-)

I was in Bad Schandau for a Kur once. At that time I was living in Berlin, so it was really nice to get away from the city.

I live in Dresden for 14 years now. Family friendly, safe and driving distance to a lot of places for trips and long weekends. Any question about the city please ask.
