😊

If people don't like you, it's ok. You only need to be concerned if dogs don't like you. Then it's time for some self-reflection.

Do you remember the days when one used a modem to dial-up to the internet?

You needed a provider to let you dial up.

At that time, AOL swamped the German market, you couldn't buy a pack of coffee beans without an AOL disk (with the dial-up software on it) attached to it.

The supply of these disks was so abundant, I had them in the glove box of the car to use as ice scraper in winter!

I went to a bar, and our table had an AOL disk under one of the legs to stop it from being wobbly! Those were the days.

According to the news, this is over now, as AOL will switch of its last dial-up stations today.
It is 2025, unbelievable.

Echte Wagner was a German brand of margarine.

It came with collectible cards.

In the 1930ies, they created a series of cards known as "Zukunftsfantasien" (Imaginings of the Future).

Here is a picture of one of those cards:

Isn't it astonishing that they correctly predicted people sitting together just to immediately call someone else to show how unimportant their companion actually is?
