The Weather
Just realized that we are missing out on exchanging weather info, so thought I would start a thread.....(if I need an excuse, I am English, and can about the weather all day long!)
Anyways, it´s been lovely and warm and sunny all week long here near to Lake Starnberg, but now we are having quite a thunder storm, and it is raining constantly, but kind of "gently", if you see what I mean?
It´s exactly what we need, and I hope the rain continues all night long - without the thunder!!!

Re: The Weather
Much too dry here. I am tempted to go camping at the North Sea early June, so can pretty much guarantee a week of solid rain for Schleswig Holstein.

Oh yes! It was so cold in the evening that we lit the oven and got the living room lovely and warm and cosy!LukeSkywalker wrote: ↑Fri May 23, 2025 9:47 pm Yesterday, it was like autumn in Munich. Put on my wintercoat. Brrr.

It's cold and wet here, but I'm quite enjoying it, for now!Robinson100 wrote: ↑Sat May 24, 2025 8:04 pmOh yes! Re: The Weather
We've been considering lighting ours - so far we've just gone for blankets and stealing the cat from each other as a warmerRobinson100 wrote: ↑Sat May 24, 2025 8:04 pm Oh yes! It was so cold in the evening that we lit the oven and got the living room lovely and warm and cosy!

I think we might crack today because it's really quite cold and only midday...

Re: The Weather
Rain all day. That's rather depressing after all the nice weather we had in the last days.

Re: The Weather
We are finally having rain on and off here way down yonder, but what we really need is at least a few days of downpour. The water levels in the Rhein and the Bodensee are abysmal and the shoreline everywhere has receded like crazy. This has made life especially complicated for the waterfowl. It's amazing how much the temps fluctuate within a day, even an hour. Gotta always dress in layers. We are all just acclimated to this and still love our life down here.

Ditto, The river Isar in Munich, looks so low. It should be full at this time of the year with all the melting snow and normal rainfall.bethannbitt wrote: ↑Sun May 25, 2025 3:10 pm We are finally having rain on and off here way down yonder, but what we really need is at least a few days of downpour. But due to climate change ( I guess ), we had a winter with 50 % less precipitation followed by very little rain in spring and starting summer. Looking at the weather forecast next Saturday starts at 30 deg, with no rain in sight, its going to be another hard year for the trees.
I suppose if this keeps up the ground water supplies will dry up as well, leading to less drinking water being available.

Re: The Weather
Heavy rain shower currently over Pinneberg (West of Hamburg).
Yesterday was also a washout at the airfield, although rain was not as heavy as it is at this moment.

Re: The Weather
Well I head down South on the A7/A8 to Blaubeuren airfield on Thursday (=few LKWs) hopefully for some decent flying over the next couple of weeks.
