After 9 months, my citizenship application has been approved and I can pick up my certificate in February. I'll be an EU citizen again!
Unfortunately it won't be in time to vote in the upcoming election.

Man, those stitches in the gums are really annoyingly...
OK, tomorrow at 1400 they will also be removed...
This should be over then...

Re: Why are you happy today?
At work again I experienced what good people I have as colleagues.
Rode the bicycle 46km
Ran 9km
Good atmosphere at home. Yep, despite an hormonal teenager.
That's why I'm happy today

Re: Why are you happy today?
Haircut Day it was! About 2 years ago I found a great gal to go to every 8 weeks and her place is a 5 minute walk from home. I have very, very fine hair and have found, once again in my life, a person who understands how to keep it in shape! Life changing.
And the weather has been mostly gorgeous. I‘m thankful and happy to live in a lovely apartment in a beautiful spot and to have nice friends. Off to walk along the lake (Seestrasse Konstanz) with a Freundin and our pooches. Life is good.

Today was also haircut day for me. About 40 years ago I found a great gal & her place is also mine so no need to walk!bethannbitt wrote: ↑Wed Jan 29, 2025 12:27 pm Haircut Day it was! About 2 years ago I found a great gal to go to every 8 weeks and her place is a 5 minute walk from home.

Seems that there is not much that a Dipl. Ing (Informatik) cannot do...
Re: Why are you happy today?
Unless I count those with the 5€ razor machine, at home, my last haircut was 25yr ago. There's a weird sense of pride in being cheap (and bold)
.
Today I'm happy as I'm heading to Italy, Riva del Garda, visiting mum. Pity such a long journey, door to door 14hr (if not delay). And despite the strikes, I even "comfortably" made it to my ICE with a good half a second to spare
Have a nice day everyone.

I’m happy as I’ve excused myself from an in-law family gathering today….I’m just not going! I’ve endured 13 years of such gatherings and I’m always as welcome as a f*rt in a lift. So today, no ridicule of any kind and a few hours of welcome alone time.

Happy to have learned that one today! Wasn't in my AE repertoire. Wouldn't work with so well with "elevator".

This thread is getting too silly, and I feel the urge to stop that...I expect a more scientific approach to minds, if you don't wind:

Re: Why are you happy today?
Many reasons to be happy today.
Gorgeous breakfast here at mums
I ran 10km. Felt easy, but pace was decent.
Gorgeous lunch
Went for a relaxed afternoon walk, first with my mum, later solo, tot. 10 miles.
Yes of course: it's all on Strava.
Fab weather here today at Lake Garda.
Supper very good. Boiled romanesco and grilled salmon. Including 2 glasses of wine.
Spoke with my fav loving Japanese girls back home. The teen one even sounded surprisingly friendly.
A very good day.

Re: Why are you happy today?
Today I'm planning to go out for an easy 10km run in the morning along Lake Garda, have lunch with my mum at hers, and next head to the Dolomites for 4-days XC skiing.
Happy.
Edit:
The 10km easy run was indeed good. Even better, it followed a 9km easy walk with my mum. Fab sunshine and scenery
Now sitting in the train to the Dolomites. Occasionally peeking at the young attractive woman opposite to me.
Life is good.
Happy.

Re: Why are you happy today?
Been a gray week weatherwise. But we basked in sunshine and fresh air in the nearby Swiss Alps yesterday with friends, and I took a beautiful power walk along the Rhein with my local ladies this morning. Grateful and happy for nature time, friendships, and feeling a part of something positive. Working on using my tools to stay centered and calm in the midst of the storm. "Why are you happy today?" is a good way to refocus. Thx to all who contribute.
