Re: Attractive PayBack deals
You should find the relevant coupon in your PayBack app to activate before you go to the store. A paper coupon also arrived in our Penny brochure at the weekend. This time I only got €525 through the cash register before it stopped working. Someone had already taken all the €100 and €150 cards so I made do with €75 ones. I'll buy a few more online in the Kartenwelt each day this week. It's quite possibly the last time Penny or Rewe will ever run this promotion so I'll fill my boots. Rewe is as good as finished with PayBack. Not a single coupon in the app from them for me at the moment. Penny seems to be hanging on until the bitter end.
I still think Rewe group will seriously regret leaving PayBack but I doubt they will be allowed back in under the terms of the agreement with Edeka.

Re: Attractive discounts
For me (as my nearest Supermarket is Nahkauf, and I buy a lot of other stuff on Amazon, and once in a month I stroll to Rewe), these are my current deals...
Buying a 100€ voucher ("Wunschgutschein") on the Payback site gives you 800Payback points, and you can turn these vouchers into Amazon balance.
Buying at Nahkauf gives you 10* Payback points at the moment.
Turning Payback points into Rewe funds gives you a reward of 10%.

Re: Attractive PayBack deals
And for anyone that missed the Penny offer or like me just wants more, Payback itself is offering 16x on Wunschgutscheine at the moment. Max purchase 1k. Max 5 of each Wertstufe, so it's possible to buy a maximum of €950 in a single transaction, netting slightly over 7k payback points. Coupon needs to be activated in the app before purchase.
Re: Attractive PayBack deals
We are being inundated with 16x on WGS at the moment. From tomorrow REWE will be offering them too. As we don't really have any idea how easy it will be to collect "serious" PayBack (at least 10x) at EDEKA I have stocked up on Kaufland gift cards (and Amazon as always). I will probably grab anoth 1k next week in REWE and convert most of those to Kaufland. I am slightly short of my Miles & More challenge target and have until the end of December to accumulate 47k Miles to earn a 50% bonus. 23,500 Miles for free is too good to pass up so I will be ensuring I buy enough WGS to hit that target!

Here it is: https://kartenwelt.rewe.de/wunschgutsch ... l?pid=2887
Buying a 100€ Wunschgutschein (which can be converted to Amazon funds, for example) gives you 800 Payback points.

Re: Attractive PayBack deals
I managed to get some WGS vouchers last time, but unfortunately our local Rewe point of sale locked at 600 EUR only (I wanted to get 900 - 1000 EUR). I will try to get more now that there are actually 2 WGS coupons on the app right now both expiring the first of December.
And there are 2 coupons for 20x on DM on the whole store, that would be 10% discount on everything.

Re: Attractive PayBack deals
That's interesting that there 16x coupons for normal and "seasonal" WGS in the app this time. I have no experience of the "seasonal" ones. They are probably just normal ones with a christmassy theme, but hopefully convertable to Amazon, Kaufland etc. as usual.Krieg wrote: ↑Mon Nov 25, 2024 10:08 am I managed to get some WGS vouchers last time, but unfortunately our local Rewe point of sale locked at 600 EUR only (I wanted to get 900 - 1000 EUR). If you are trying to buy both types then do that at two different tills would be my suggestion. The "Kassenlimit" really does seem to apply to individual tills for some reason.
Re: Attractive PayBack deals
If you want an even easier way to grab thousands of PB points you can activate the coupons for Comdirect (valid until the end of the month). I have just opened a Depot (free for the first three years even if it's not used at all) and a Tagesgeld (free in perpetuity under the current terms). For these two accounts that I will not use at all and will close again in 6 months time (after the points are unlocked) I have received 9k PB points. If you have a German ID card with the eID functionality enabled you don't even have to talk to anyone or leave your house to open these accounts as Comdirect supports eID. I opened both accounts in less than 10 minutes, entering very few details I might add and the PB points were all there within less than a further 10 minutes.
A further 6k PB are available if you open a Girokonto but that is not free after 6 months unless you use it and have at least 700€ a month lodged to it from an account not in your name so I will leave that one.

Re: Attractive PayBack deals
I have just tried out a new trick (for me). 16x PB WGS from Penny, converted to Kaufland, did the weekly shopping in Kaufland and popped a WGS Mobilitätsgutschein in with my shopping, paid for with the Penny WGS. This allows me to then convert this Mobilitätsgutschein into an Aral gift card (not possible with the "normal" WGS) and pay for petrol this way. I will wait until I have a 10x or 12x Aral PayBack coupon and strike when the local Aral's prices are at their lowest (using the Clever Tanken app to check).
This results in 26x/28x PayBack on say 60 lites of fuel, which equates to ca. 750 PB points for a fill up. 750 PB points is worth (nominally) €7.50. Even if Aral is 5c per litre more expensive than say Kaufland the premium I pay for buying 30 litres there is €1.50, but I get at least €7.50 worth of PayBack points, significantly more (4 to 5 times more on a good day) if used to buy long haul flights on Miles & More.
As far as I am aware, availabilty of these Mobilitätsgutscheine is the problem for most people. Many folks on mydealz report their local Kaufland not stocking these WGS at all, but I have read that around Berlin availability is good and I picked mine up on the outskirts of Berlin too. The Mobilitätsgutscheine can also be used to convert into Uber, TIER, D-Ticket, Flixbus etc. etc. credit/gift cards, so it's not limited to car owners by any means. This is a great way of forcing a lot more of your day to day spending through PayBack.

Re: Attractive PayBack deals
My local Rewe only went to 700 before saying "NO" this morning. I think I'll use my wife's account and go again for another €700. We have no idea how long it will be until the next time we see 16x on WGS, if ever. PayBack itself will probably do it the odd time but nowhere near as frequently as Penny & Rewe recently. Nobody knows if Edeka will run such deals at all. Other folks on mydealz are also reporting a €700 limit so Rewe seems to have capped the number of gift cards in a single transaction nationally.
Re: Attractive PayBack deals
The American Express PayBack card offer is back on. A very very nice 4,000 PayBack points for the first card usage and no minimum spend. You can buy a pack of bubble gum with the card and get the 4,000 Points. This is the most generous offer they run.
The main benefit of the card however is that your PayBack points are protected from expiration when you have it. The card itself is completely free forever. You can use it once to get the PayBack points and then stick it in a drawer and forget about it if you like (although it does allow you to collect PayBack points at a rate of 1 point per €3 spent, even in non-PayBack partner shops). The offer is only available when recommended by a current card holder so I will cheekily post a link here again for anyone interested. Full diclosure: I also receive 2,000 PayBack points on my card when anyone takes up the offer via the referral link below
At this juncture I would like to thank the anonymous person here who took up the last referral link offer. I obviously don't know who that is, just that someone here signed up via my link

Re: Attractive PayBack deals
Just for the record:
Penny, Rewe and Nahkauf are not Payback partners anymore.
From now on, Netto and Edeka are Payback partners.
I expect some nice deals from Netto and Edeka in January to get people hooked on Payback...
Edit: And here we go...

Re: Attractive PayBack deals
The 15x one worked at my local Edeka yesterday, as did the product group 5x ones. Handy 1000 points. My wife took the 15x one for Netto. There are quite a few 10x coupons floating around but also several reports of people not getting any points at various Edekas. Netto seems to be more centralised or something and things seem to be working as expected.

Re: Attractive PayBack deals
I see Edeka stores as franchises, maybe that is the reason why points are not rewarded in each of them?
is Netto cheaper brother of Edeka, like Penny of Rewe?

Re: Attractive PayBack deals
Yes, Penny is to Rewe as Netto is to Edeka.
Edeka has a similar model to Rewe. Rewe has their own stores as well as franchised ones. Edeka I'm not sure if they have any of their own stores or if they are all franchised.
Edeka Hessenring is not taking part in PayBack at all, just as they did not take part in the Deutschlandcard. Individual Edekas are also able to opt out I believe. That was not the case with Rewe as far as I know.
There's a great payback coupon valid today and tomorrow for anyone with or interested in a Quirion account. 25x points! Maximum of 1 voucher per amount per PayBack account, so 1x 25, 1x 50 and 1x 100. 175€ total. I received 2175 points for them. If you don't want to actually save anything with Quirion you can cash back out immediately. They allow up to €250 per anum in gift card transfers in.
They allow children's accounts too an you can verify your identity using a German eID. I've opened an account for my son there.
