Sunday Roast?

Post by BzzBzzz »

Hi everyone! Does anyone know of a place in Munich that serves Sunday Roast? I'm talking about the British traditional one, with roasted meat, roasted or mashed potatoes, Yorkshire pudding, gravy, etc. Thanks!

Not really Sunday roast but a question re a Christmas roast or meal. Ordered a Gepölkte Schweinebraten online. Quite local, good reviews (our butcher has retired). The closest I can think of to a British gammon or whatever. The delivery time door to door is advertised as 1 to 2 days. But it took 8 or 9. UPS balls up all the way. So it is salted, vacuum packed with a label saying keep between 2 and 5 C. It came without any cool packs (not that they would last that long). So contacted the supplier and asked if they would still recommend eating it. They hummed and hawed, and said, like, it is salted and vacuum packed and in a warehouse probably not that hot, bla bla. So, still planning to cook it on 26th. I have a back up (sausages). I reckon if it smells okay when I pierce the vacuum pack, and it smells okay, it is good to go. I am planning to boil it and then roast, so it will be well cooked all the way through. None of us are pregnant/very young/very old so hopefully it will not kill us. Happy Xmas everyone.

Thanks. Weirdly my husband was just really really sick with what we assume was food poisoning or possibly a virus. He is much better. But like, he fainted twice and landed on his face and looks like someone beat him up. We both have wills. Happy Christmas.

The cured pork was excellent. I guess UPS warehouses are pretty cold this time of year. We even had an enthusiastic native staying who cooked it, he made Knödel and Rotkohl too, Fantastic.
