Dangerous tree in Saxony

Post by Roybryt »

My neighbor has a very tall dead pine tree quite close to our house. In the recent storms the tree has half fallen down and is now resting on some nearby trees. If it comes all the way down it may damage our house. Can I insist that he takes the tree down?

What was the result of you talking to him/her/it about his/her/its tree?

Speak with your neighbour and have a witness (someone other than your spouse). If there is refusal, photograph and video the tree. Document it well. You cannot remove the tree nor can you insist if it is on the neighbour's property. By politely suggesting the tree's removal to save a potential ugly matter involving insurance companies, the neighbour might see into the sense of things.
