There must be some very frantic engineers and a lot of new baldness in silicon valley

Hadn't thought of that! But there is a precedent. There was a baby boom in New York 9 months after an electricity outage
But let's be realistic. An electricity outage is not as serious as a facebook outage. You can always run facebook on candles /s

Re: What Made You Laugh Today
I have been corrected -
“From a medical standpoint, doctors always talk in weeks and days,” says obstetrician, gynecologist (OB-GYN), and Flo medical board member Dr. Charlsie Celestine. “A full-term pregnancy is 40 weeks long, which equals 10 months. Yet commonly, people talk about pregnancy as being nine months long.”
Knew it seemed longer. They did not talk in weeks back in the day.

Re: What Made You Laugh Today
40 weeks does not equal 10 months. It would if each month was exactly 4 weeks = 28 days. The way to figure out how many months would be to calculate 365 days/12 months = 30.417 days in a month. 40 weeks = 280 days so 280/30.417 = 9.2 months or about 9 months and 6 days.Fraufruit wrote: ↑Tue Mar 05, 2024 7:06 pm I have been corrected -

Some anecdotal evidence of that would be my parents as love sick teenagers in the early 50's. They were not living in the same town. Dad took the bus down to visit mom for Christmas. My sister was born full term on 9/28

A friend is expecting a child and the due date is 9/11, which she felt that may have stigma attached to it.
"Cheer up," I said, "It could have been twins."

Re: What Made You Laugh Today
Was reading the comments to a NYT article yesterday and noticed that my 86 year old mother had posted a comment. I responded to her thread.
