Re: Why are you happy today?
I am happy becasue, after a rather late night shooting pool, I left my cue stick on a seat in a tram stop. I had to wait a bit and started fiddling with my phone, tram came and I got in. Three stops later I was like, "Fuck! Where's my stick??" I got off and almost ran all the way back to the initial stop and there it was lying nicely on the seat where I left it. I was over the moon happy.
Moral of story, do not drink alcohol free beer when going out for pool.

Re: Why are you happy today?
Just looked in the fridge and saw the two huge, fresh truffels waiting for me. A neighbour dug them out of her garden yesterday and gave them to me as a thanks for barbequeing yesterday. I may have mentioned this once of twice, but the Eifel is brilliant.
Will now boil up some pasta, and start grating.

Have been dealing with a lot of personal issues (aka getting my sh…. together) and helping Mr Metall deal with his health… feel happier now because at least I tried.

Kinda happy because I still know enough medicine to advise and help people.
Kinda sad because the lack of good old GPs is so bad people turn to me…

Cuz Jimmy Carter turns 100 today! What a mensch. What a life. What a role model. I hope that absentee ballot arrives to you in short order.

That depends on where you’re registered. Another reason I’m is cuz I voted a week ago. I did it all, as usual, digitally. Early voting in my current home state (KS) begins October 15th, but the overseas ballots for KS voters go out much earlier. And I marked my ballot, scanned it, and sent the PDF back with a blurb saying I waive my right to an anonymous vote. So I am , as is hubby. Reduced my anxiety too.

A swing state! Your vote matters mightily! My „helper syndrome“ kicked in and I googled this for you. You know how this works, in the sense that every state‘s got different rules, and they can change. I have voted in most every election in my county during the 5+ years I’ve been here, which also keeps me automatically registered. Are you registered if you haven’t participated for 4 years? IDK. In keeping with the spirit of the thread, I am happy that you are interested. I realize that your life is very busy. Good luck.

Thank you for checking!
I was voting since 2010 from outside of the USA, and my registration was saying "Until I am eligible'.
For sure will go through it.
Thanks again!

Happy, oh so happy, and relieved, cuz today I finally submitted my online application for my Niederlassungserlaubnis. I’m hoping that I left no stone unturned, but if I did I’m sure I can turn it over later. Feels like a gigantic step! Fingers crossed for a quick positive reply.

Congratulations to President Carter on turning 100 and then reaching his goal of living long enough to cast an early vote for Kamala!bethannbitt wrote: ↑Tue Oct 01, 2024 9:51 am Cuz Jimmy Carter turns 100 today! Re: Why are you happy today?
Football training tonight.
I agreed to help Kid 2's team at the start of the season, as the usual trainer doesn't have time this year, and I've been surprised how much I have enjoyed it.
There are several things which have been making me pretty unhappy of late, so on Saturday, when the D-Jugend team I have been helping out formed a circle around me, and the captain said on behalf of the team that they've really been enjoying the training and that they would all like me to be the official trainer on a permanent basis, it was the happiest I have felt for some time.

Re: Why are you happy today?
In the Eifel, this will happen to anyone who looks like his family tree is really a tree and not a helical structure.
As far as that goes, you really stand out from the crowd.
No wonder they see you as a leader.
