I will be going to Friedrichshafen on Monday of next week...
Unfortunately I was asleep at the wheel and only just now saw your post. 😕 Happy to represent Konstanz and the Bodensee here!

What is up in the South? Oh, the usual alcohol events like Starkbierfest, St.Patrick‘s Day and then followed by Frühlingsfest. 🍻

I asked if their return is now quite early? The reply was that it’s very mild here. How do they know that from Spain/France? 🤔
For many years people did not know where birds went, some believed they hibernated or turned into Leprechauns

Then a Pfeilstorch was discovered. You can see it in a display at the University of Rostock

Does anyone know about Altdorf in Niederbayern, 84032, or live nearby? I figure there must be someone on here that’s been there.

From June 29th through July 13th we are staying at a Ferienbauernhof in Hauzenberg, 94051, near Passau, with our two oldest Armenian-Germerican grandchildren. I booked an overnight stay in Altdorf on June 28th cuz we want to avoid driving straight through from Konstanz. Any input about that area would be welcome.

This summer, Entity Theatre presents William Shakespeare’s best-loved comedy A Midsummer Night’s Dream at Theatron, Westpark.

Join us for our 10-year anniversary of open-air Shakespeare with Entity Theatre!

FREE Admission!

THE STORY

Athens.

Four young members of the nobility run away to the forest only to have Puck, Oberon’s fairy, make both of the men fall in love with the same woman.

Why? An honest mistake.

The result? Confusion, despair and a lot of chasing each other.

Incidentally, someone is transformed into a donkey, with whom the Fairy Queen, Titania, promptly falls in love. Also, a wall will make an appearance, as do lion and moonshine. And, of course, William Shakespeare.

Lord, what fools these mortals be!

FREE ADMISSION!

Performance dates:

June 28–30, 2024, 19:00

July 5–7, 2024, 19:00

July 12–14, 2024, 19:00

Performances will last approx. 90 minutes. Simply bring a blanket and a picnic and enjoy our abridged version of Midsummer Night’s Dream.

Please be advised that this is an outdoor production; we recommend that you wear suitable clothing and footwear.

In case of rain, please check our weather phone for an update 0176 52441735.

In answer to my own question, Altdorf worked out quite well for the overnight stop. Despite mercurial weather we are currently very much enjoying our stay in the Dorf of Windpassing at Kimmingerhof. There are four other nice families with children here and the kiddos‘ German skills are soaring yet again through play with peers. I think this is destined to become an annual event with Oma and Opa. 😃

Sadly tonight's performance is cancelled due to severe thunderstorms heading to Westpark 😥

Tomorrow's performance is tentatively still on. If I remember, I'll post an update tomorrow but you can always call our weather hotline: 0176 52441735 :)

That gives time to walk to the Hofgarten and watch the footie there. At least, they had a huge screen there when we went after the play showing games.

Apologies for no attending. I genuinely wanted to attend and have a wee culture injection. Seeing only cows for weeks on end.... Blöd!

Work simply got the better of me. Please keep me posted for future events.

No problem, it would have been touch and go for you, it being an open air event and this being Bavaria with its propensity for summer thunderstorms and thus, short notice cancellation.

There should be some indoor productions (hopefully) this winter :)
