Hello everyone,
My husband and I rented a car through a German car rental company for our vacation.
While crossing Belgium on our way back to Germany, the back wheel got hit by a piece of a toilet seat that seemed to be already lying on the motorway.
It then kicked the piece into the rear bumper which got damaged.
We had not taken the additional car insurance that the company offered, but we do have a travel insurance with ADAC (ADAC Reiserücktrittsversicherung). Could we use it to get back the cost of the rear bumper (1,050 EUR)?
Thank you in advance for your help.

Is that only cancellation insurance? Like if you have to cancel a trip for a variety of reasons?

BTW there are insurance policies that you can take out that will cover you for such things, at a much cheaper rate than the car hire companies offer. But I do not think this is one of them. Hope I am wrong.

If one hires a car using an American Express card, insurance is built into card / contract. This is old information, but I believe it still holds true.
