Re: Why are you unhappy today?
Went to a mate's memorial service today.
52, leaving behind his wife and 10 year old lad
Life's too short folks, so make the most of it while you can (admittedly easier said than done)!

When the seagulls follow the trawler, it's because they think sardines will be thrown into the sea.

@Eric7, please - if you have the powers to do so - be a shoulder to lean on for the 10year old lad, and - if wanted - for the wife.

We'll do what we can of course!
Luckily there's quite an extended network of family and friends who are there for them.

I have rightly buggered my left knee in exactly the same way I buggered the right knee 37 years ago.
It will be many months before I'm back to 50% of normal.

It’s like the busses saying….all at once or none at all. I’m always grateful for the none at all!
So many busses just now! Started with husband being in hospital for 2 weeks. Soon to go to Reha for 13 weeks plus. I’ve now got eye hospital and other hospital checks necessary due to not ok normal checks. Very poorly cat…nervous of today’s vet visit. Major house repairs outstanding due to faulty new water meter installation by our Gemeinde. Cellar stinks most horrid after 6 months of ongoing insurance and repair delay. Mould now too. Kiddo seems somewhat off the rails just now! Husband will be away when all of that future stuff enfolds! I’d go and scream in the forest though wouldn’t want to disturb the lovely wildlife!

Thanks so much Fraufruit, you’re very kind.
I had to leave our cat at the vet so she can get fully tested tomorrow morning nüchtern. I can’t even think of the English word for that just now….no food or drink before examination.

I always think of „nüchtern“ in the context of being sober, but clearly here it means they want her to have an empty stomach. Take good care emkay. Sending positive thoughts and virtual hugs your way. You do have a very full platter.

Re: Why are you unhappy today?
Yesterday evening my daughter's dog went over the rainbow bridge at 13 1/2 years old after suffering with stomach ulcers the past couple of months. He is now united with his best friend Joker (my dog), who passed away 2 years ago. I had daycared him for all that time. He will be sorely missed. RIP Robby!

Re: Why are you unhappy today?
I’m unhappy, sad, angry and frustrated. A close family member, who is already facing a hysterectomy due to severe endometriosis, also needs an operation on her hand because it has become so disformed she can hardly use it and has now been diagnosed with an illness called lipoedema, something I hadn’t even heard of before yesterday, so I’m doing my research on it today.
I’m just getting my frustration out in this post because I don’t know where else to go, and I really need to be there to support her.

More hugs for Tappy!!
I would put good money on the family member being one of the loveliest people one could meet - sorry, but this sort of sh*t always seems to hit the nice ones. Not at all fair if you ask me!

You're so right Rob, she's the one the rest of the family turn to when something needs to be done. Even extended family in Ireland come to her when one of her cousins needs help.Robinson100 wrote: ↑Sat Sep 21, 2024 9:08 pm I would put good money on the family member being one of the loveliest people one could meet - sorry, but this sort of sh*t always seems to hit the nice ones. So, we've had the weekend to process everything and it's onwards and upwards from here.

Re: Why are you unhappy today?
I am down with the ´flu at the mo - hit me like a truck last Thursday, and hasn´t moved on yet.
So, last week I got written off sick for Thursday and Saturday with just a phonecall.
As I was still ill on the Monday, I called the surgery again, hoping for a couple more days of being written off. But they insisted that I should come in and actually be seen by my Doctor, and that I should wear an FFP2 mask. No problem, in I went.
I registered at the reception, and the nice lady there said that it would be best to wait on one of the seats outside of the surgery door, as I could then take off my mask and breathe more easily. Seemed like a good idea, so I did.
I waited and waited, saw people coming and going and waited a bit more.
It was over two hours of waiting, when a friend came out of the surgery, and wondered why I was still there? - she had come along with no appointment and was seen within five minutes!
So, luckily for me, she showed some initiative, and went in to ask why I had been waiting so long?
Apparently "nobody" even knew I was there, and my card was not on the desk.
Yes! I had been forgotten!!!
So, they processed me really quickly after that, but there was no apology or anything, and it´s left me feeling really unhappy, and fed-up!
Added to that, I still feel like shit!

Re: Why are you unhappy today?
I wish you a speedy recovery. I also was forgotten at the doctors office a while ago. I had talked to the doctor and was supposed to get blood works. Waited like 1 and a half hours patiently before one of the doctors assistants noticed me and asked why I was still there.Robinson100 wrote: ↑Tue Nov 05, 2024 2:51 am I am down with the ´flu at the mo - hit me like a truck last Thursday, and hasn´t moved on yet.
