I have booked flights to Vietnam for November. I'm also booking hotels, etc., which may not be refundable. Because of the international situation, I'm concerned that the flights may be canceled. Since I'm not transiting through a Gulf-state country, I guess the chances are low, but there may also be jet fuel issues.
Does anyone have experience buying travel insurance which would cover the costs of non-refundable services in this situation? Can you recommend an insurer?
The other thing I'm unsure of -- may insurance plans exclude claims that result from conflict/war/etc. I wonder if the insurer could exclude a claim, if it's even distantly the result of conflict, for example jet fuel restrictions caused by the closing of the Straight of Hormuz. Anyone know the subtleties here?
Thanks.

Re: Travel Insurance?
I might be late for the show as you've already booked.
I had very good results looking into the small printed of my visa or American Express contracts, they provide some decent coverage assuming you've booked the travel with their card!
I am afraid that looking for an insurance after you've booked the flight might be too late. YMMV.
By the way, if we ever do meet – say, at an hTTi meet-up – how should I address you, nyjxwqwn? I'm just curious to know how to pronounce that name…
