Retirement Planning with ETFs

Hi all,

Site newbie here...
I'm a dual citizen (Germany/USA), permanently residing in Germany as of this spring.
I need to reinvest my Traditional IRA as I can no longer hold mutual funds.
I have about 10-15 years until retirement. Does the below sound like a prudent investment scheme to get started?

US Stocks: Vanguard Total Stock Market ETF - 40% allocation
US Bonds: iShares Core U.S. Aggregate Bond ETF - 40% allocation
International Stocks: Vanguard FTSE Developed Markets ETF - 20% allocation

These ETFs are supposedly:
- low cost
- globally diversified
- US-domiciled/avoiding German PFIC tax complications

Thank you for your input; it's much appreciated.

Why can't you just keep that traditional IRA?

The way I understand it, money that's 'just sitting' in the IRA is a money-market type of investment, i.e., not well-positioned to grow/yield.
The funds/ETFs will stay in the IRA.
Someone please correct me if I'm wrong. Thanks!

Sorry I can't answer your question.
But 15yr from retirement you're still too young for a "prudent" portfolio. For the next 5+ year your portfolio should still be very aggressive.
Just my opinion.
