Rental car insurance?

Thanks to this group of people I used to have a UK yearly policy that covered all my rental car activity per year, not per trip. Of course thanks to Brexit, that went away. I cannot find something similar in the EU. I swear I’ve googled, but all I get are options to add insurance to individual trips.

Might help.
When I had my Amex Card, rental car insurance was included so long as I used the card to pay. Unsure if this would suit you.
I believe ADAC also has insurance covering car hires. If they offer a yearly plan, I can't say.

I have one with Car Assure but I have never claimed anything. Almost ten years with them already, it used to have another name before but I forgot.

I took a rental car insurance policy out with these people, last year

I liked them because they offices in the UK and in the EU, so you can get cover in either of the locations or world wide, they offer short term cover to 1 year cover, all for a low price.
Of course I only just got them, so I have not been through the claim process yet, but the reviews do not seem so bad.
Lets see what happens if I need to claim

I used Questor for many years. For EU customers they are now

I made one claim a few years ago for scratched alloy wheels and it was processed very quickly and efficiently

I also have a worldwide policy with Car Assure (or whatever it‘s called now, as there were some recent changes). It definitely works out cheaper than paying for with each rental.
Important to note is that it‘s an insurance for the Claim Damage Waiver (CDW), up to 3000€ or so. It can also covers car sharing in Europe.
In some countries it‘s possible to rent a car with no CDW, so you‘d need to always make sure there is a Deductible in place, which is then insured.
I‘ve claimed once due to a stone chip on a windscreen and payment was not super quick, but ok.
