German Online Courses

Post by heidi_de »

Hi,
My other half is currently looking to learn German. She is a complete beginner and would like to do an online course with a small group of people. It doesn't have to be an intensive course. Quite a lot of online offers don't show any real detail of the courses and there seems to be a lot of overly expensive courses. We're willing to pay, but don't want to get ripped off. Does anyone have any recommendations?

Thanks,
Heidi

Ironically, the very expensive and the very cheap courses are probably effectively the same course from the same teacher. This is what my wife does, teaching a language online (not German, though). The difference is that when the students are via a "school", they are charged extra by the school and they end up paying much more, tipically double, than if they had contacted the teacher directly.
Admittedly the "school" does indeed something: they manage the communication between teachers and students, messing things up and causing all sort of confusion.
