TWAS the night before Wiesn

TWAS the night before Wiesn, when all through the Stadt
Nothing was stirring, not even a cat.
The rides are all ready, and so are the tents
All surrounded by, a great big high fence

Then all of a sudden, the drunks all appeared
And that's when things, started to get really weird
The noise and the smell, roast mandeln and chicken
A Bavarian hat, that someone's been sick in.

So remember at last, when you've had your last Mass
Not to fall asleep, on that hill with the grass
Go home to your bed, between your own sheets
And not on a bench, to be woke by police

Ian is the Beer Chief of Friday Beer Garden. He doesn‘t need an intro 👻.

It was just a suggestion.

Anyway, an introduction incl. a description what "Friday Beer Garden" is and how to join wouldn't hurt nobody.

Well, I'm happy to see Ian here whether he chooses to introduce himself or not to those who don't know him.

It's the night before the Wiesn starts again. And I added a verse to my Wiesn version of the 19th Century Christmas poem:

TWAS the night before Wiesn, when all through the Stadt
Nothing was stirring, not even a cat.
The rides are all ready, and so are the tents
All surrounded by, a great big high fence

Then all of a sudden, the drunks all appeared
And that's when things, start to get really weird
The noise and the smell, roast mandeln and chicken
A Bavarian hat, that someone's been sick in.

Unable to avoid, all kinds of trouble
Staggering folks, wearing Herzl and Glubbal
In Lederhosen and Dirndl, but looking quite flustered
Their favourite attire, now covered in mustard

So remember at last, when you've had your last Mass
Not to fall asleep, on that hill with the grass
Go home to your bed, get there in one piece.
Don't sleep on a bench, to be woke by police

Munich - This is how they do it in Germany: Simon Wigand from Herne reserved a spot on the infamous puke hill behind the festival tents with a large beach towel during his visit to the Munich Oktoberfest today.

“It looks pretty good here!” Wigand points to a patch of grass. "No visible puke puddles, not much trash. Perfect! I'll lie down here later to puke my guts out and piss all over my rented lederhosen."

He takes a large towel out of his backpack and spreads it out on the ground. “There. Reserved. Later, everything will be full once everyone is drunk. Then a spot like this will be worth its weight in gold.”

Wigand isn't worried that someone will just vomit on his spot or even on the towel. “The towel is sacred. Even the drunkest people respect that. We're still in Germany, after all.”

OK, first the Oktoberfest was so crowded, that they had to close the gates.

Now, it won't open today due to a bomb thread.

What the heck is going on?

Well that was a spectacular escalation of a family drama.

In a terrible way.

Sheesh.
