These days I've become obliged (by kid 2) to have more than a passing interest in German football, and even though this is an effzeh house (again, kid 2), what Leverkusen have managed to achieve is impressive. I've been hearing a fair bit about how Bayern have had a poor season (again, Saturday suggested otherwise), but Bayern (and both Leipzig and even Dortmund too) are on course to have more points than last season, and could equal the season before. So it really isn't a lack of competition or other teams falling away, just quite simply that Leverkusen have been a class apart. They showed that gulf in class against West Ham last week. Fast, accurate players who play well as a team, and are justifiably referred to as "mentality monsters" in the last 10 minutes of any game.
I hope they are able to keep the team together next season. It would be good to see what they can do against the more established European clubs. I think they'll struggle to keep all of them though.

Harry might win something else with club or country, who knows?
Usually the buntes-liga is won by a "club" called Borussia (Dortmund, Mönchengladbach) or Bayern/Bayer, not many others have won it.

Compared to the other Big 5 European leagues since the Premier League era* (92/93), 7 winners over 30 years seems quite normal:
France 11
England 7
Germany 7
Italy 6
Spain 5
* for no other reason that it's easier for me to count them
