He thinks the S in BRICS is Spain.
He's not capable of thinking. He just makes stuff up as he goes along. And he says things for shock value. Fasten your seat belts!

It seems hard to determine the small babies sex, until after 6 or 7 weeks, and maybe as long as 11 weeks.
5 day old embryos can be sex-typed with almost 100 percent accuracy. This is routine in IVF. They are screening for abnormalities, but the sex is easy to spot and is important for couples trying to dodge an inherited sex linked disease.
I will leave this topic as off topic, before I get told off. But whoever wrote the text of the OE that Trump signed knew what they were talking about. To be accurate, she knew what she was talking about.

I agree with you in IVF cases, but standard run of the mill pregnancies, cannot do that. I thought, might be wrong.
Standard run of the mill pregnancies, are probably 98 or 99 % of all pregnancies, IVF children are rare

I read a very scary article on the NYT last night, by a retired prosecutor who worked on convicting some of the Jan.6 terrorists.
The person argued that Trump pardoned them not because he cares about them, he doesn't. Rather, it's useful to him as it possibly encourages and legitimate later actions by violent militias supporting him. Think of opposition politician intimidated, or worse. Happens all the time in certain countries.
The rule of law has been what makes us, western democracies, better than repressive violent dictatorships. No longer. Very scary.

Ha, sorry this is a bit off topic but could not find a better home. I am puzzled about President Trump doing all this stuff, EOs and such. Are Congress or whatever approving these things? Do they not have to? I have no understanding about how the US system works. It just has flumoxxed me a bit (did the flumoxxed thread disappear)

One wonders if these people really believe what they spout:
This is all making me sick. It's going from bad to worse hourly. They're heiling at CPAC now, and the Musk Rat has our data and is going to train his AI Grok 3 (can you have a MORE dystopian name?) with everything the federal government has about us, and theyre consolidating power. I know there's a lot of fear mongering, but the reality is still shocking.
Does anyone have plans regarding their money/investment in the US? I'm wondering if it's safe.

I think if it's not safe there it probably won't be safe anywhere. I think we are all sitting in the same leaky boat.
Can anybody comment on who James Carville is? I have never heard that name before, to be honest.
Well known political pundit. He's from my neck of the woods. Fascinating guy, very intelligent and well spoken but humorous, big time player in the Clinton administration, met and married a big time player in the Bush administration and the marriage has survived . But, he incorrectly predicted that Kamala would be elected! I wanted to believe him then, but I feared that wasn't gonna be the case and hated to be right. I'll have to read what he's now saying in more depth before I offer up an opinion. Can only stomach so much per day. Off to choir practice in an hour, a great diversion. At least for tonight people will be focused on German politics. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/James_Carville https://www.nytimes.com/2024/10/23/opin ... ction.html https://www.bjtonline.com/business-jet- ... ry-matalin

Trump can’t even believe himself
Since becoming prime minister, Sir Keir, who had previously been critical of the president, has sought to build a close relationship with Trump.
However, he did feel compelled to contradict the US president when he accused Volodymyr Zelensky of being a dictator.
Asked about his dictator comments, Trump said: "Did I say that? I can't believe I said that. Next question."
