Took me a minute. "Ages" came to me quickly," but the dreaded "c-word" took me a bit. The "neighbor" vs "neighbor" helped me shift too. Separated by a common language and all that stuff comes to mind.

Look, I started the German word of the day thread. I am contemplating to start an "English word of the day" thread so that the Irish, British, Australian and the 'muricans can beat the shit out of each other, discussing who's right and who's wrong...bethannbitt wrote: ↑Sat Oct 04, 2025 11:26 pm Took me a minute. In the New Orleans of my youth one was often told to "Get off your fanny/derriere and do somethin‘ ‘bout the problem." "Ass" was simply too vulgar. Re: What Made You Laugh Today
