Took me a minute. "Ages" came to me quickly," but the dreaded "c-word" took me a bit. The "neighbor" vs "neighbor" helped me shift too. Separated by a common language and all that stuff comes to mind. :lol: (Neighbours needs an apostrophe!)

Look, I started the German word of the day thread. I am contemplating to start an "English word of the day" thread so that the Irish, British, Australian and the 'muricans can beat the shit out of each other, discussing who's right and who's wrong...

I mean,lets start with the word "fanny" and its different meaning... And the fact that Brits visiting Germany have a ball when they see that the German supermarkets have chips called "Funny fresh"...

Yes, we invented the "fanny pack" which they gotta call the "bum bag"in order to avoid a problem. :D In the New Orleans of my youth one was often told to "Get off your fanny/derriere and do somethin‘ ‘bout the problem." "Ass" was simply too vulgar. :lol:
