Recently we noticed that a cherry plum tree behind my boyfriends´property was literally hanging with fruit, and that it was slowly ripening.
So, at 8am today, we were out and about picking fruit to make jam.
In all, we collected 7kg of fruit (and the tree is still full!) - 4kg of which I have already made into jam, and the other 3kg, I will make tomorrow.

If you regularly order sh!t on Amazon, and know how to handle Paypal, and have a credit card, this is a deal.

Rewe has a quite good Wunschgutschein deal this week.

If you buy a Wunschgutschein online for 100€, you will get one voucher worth 100€ and one voucher worth 8€.

And the good news is: You can turn both of these into Amazon gift voucher and then into Amazon balance!

So,

1.) buy the 100€ Wunschgutschein and pay it by credit card
2.) Go to the webseite www.wunschgutschein.de and turn that 100€ voucher into two 50€ amazon vouchers
3.) Add those two Amazon vouchers to your balance at Amazon
4.) Go to the webseite www.wunschgutschein.de and turn that 8€ voucher into a 10€ amazon vouchers, you have to top up 2€ via Paypal to do that
5.) Add that 10€ voucher to your balance at Amazon

In the end, you spend 102€, and have 110€ on your Amazon balance.

Well, the 8 EUR is just to explain the process. Nothing stops you from doing the thing 10 or 20 times. It is basically an 8% discount in Amazon.

I am hoping to get my food expenses under control this year. I am terrible with following through on planned meals or sticking to my shopping list.

But thats a few things I am doing this year:
* Planning meals utalizing first what I have on hand
* Filling gaps utalizing the best sales, and conparing store offers
* Batch cooking in double and freezing portions
* I would love to create a variable meal plan thats I cycle through but want to avoid getting sick of the same foods too
* reading books I have before buying new
* Project pan using up products to the end before buying new
* seeking used alternativs or comparing sales as well as sleepig on it to reduce spontanious purchases

I am also aiming to simplify or streamline my life which includes removing at least 2026 items from my home in 2026.

Hope you guys have a wonderful start in 2026 and look forward to your tips.

This does not really belong here, but anyway. I have never owned a tumble dryer. However, judging by neighbours, our gas boiler is coming to the end of its life. Replacement will be a heat pump. This will mean that the cellar, which has been fab for line drying clothes all year round, will probably no longer be so. On top of that, heat pump dryers are being introduced. But it seems that although they use less energy, they take ages to dry stuff. And cost lots more, and are really really cumbersome to repair, requiring a lot more time and expense $$.

So, I am looking for a conventional condensing tumble dryer, while they still exist. But a daunted by range. So chaps, what is a good reliable, gunstig, money saving one? Many thanks.

I dry almost all of my clothes on a laundry rack under a ceiling fan. Usually faster than my Waschtrockner and uses almost no energy. My son started doing the same in the U.S. to save on his electric bill. Clothes also last a lot longer when not thrown in the dryer each time.

A floor fan of some type would also work well.

Just saying.

My major concern is that that conventional dryers will be banned soon, but the heat pump replacements are crap. So want to buy one for occasional use. I use small garden in summer with line. And the room in Dach is really good. Just want to buy a conventional one while still available. But a good one.Thanks.
