Elon Musk threw the Nazi salute yesterday at Trump's inauguration, twice because once was not enough. Of course they are now saying it was not a Nazi salute, even if it looks like he rehearsed it (and still managed to do it very sloppy).
No Nazi salute, just like that Confederate flag has nothing to do with white supremacy.

Pretty disgusting.

Musk has a transgender son.
I wonder if this is the reason he's anti woke, embracing Trump and AfD.
No he has a transgender daughter who was assigned male at birth.
He is on record as saying that is why he is anti-woke.
Yet another example of what a horrid little man he is in my opinion.
I understand how hard it is to have a trans-gender kid, but in the end it's the person you love, not the shape of their body, the clothes they wear or the name they call themselves. Accept the changes and love your children, anything else is just nasty.

It is exactly to those we love most that we should be even more careful not to feed false truths.

In a survey, 60% of car buyers now say Musk’s controversial reputation actively puts them off buying a Tesla.

Negative feelings seem to grow and grow about Musk and Tesla. I try to be positive, but I must admit I too feel negative about the situation. I know people who just hate him.
Tesla sales where down in 2024, but only by a bit, despite price reductions and china seems to have a better range of cars at cheaper prices. If I really wanted to buy right now, I think the china offers, seem quite good.
Of course he is not going anywhere in the near future, but I just do not like these feelings I get

I bought my firsts BEV yesterday - as a good local German resident I bought a VW ID3, the modern equivalent of the KdF cars the bloke with the funny walk used to sell.
Buying a used car in Germany was fairly tortious - the salesmen seemed very disinterested and know little about what they were selling. In 4 from 4 Main Dealers the seller were unfamiliar with the phrase "State of Health" and non of them were familiar with the spec levels. One dealer was even advertising a car that clearly wasn't the model advertised.
A bigger problem and more relevant to this forum is that 4 out of 4 VW dealers said the used car guarantee only applied within Germany and not even in neighbouring EU countries, ie as soon as you hit Venlo your on your own and either pay for repairs of get the car hauled back, an unappealing proposition from Stockport
I was very hartnäckig as I intend to drive 800km NRW to Stockport several times a year. Eventually one of the 4 main dealers relented, did some homework and came back with a VW guarantee valid in all western European countries. The catch is I must still pay for any repairs but can claim it back. That will be fun if it needs a battery module !
I was a bit puzzled why the car was referred to as "Glacier white" as there are no Glaciers in Wuppertal nor even in Wolfsburg but now after several hours of filling in forms I know why. The Anmeldung will take around 3 weeks while Germany's finest paper shufflers shuffle paper for all their worth. Clearly the Glacier is a reference to the speed of registration ! Hey Ho, Ordnung muss sein !
