I recently purchased a Probe BahnCard 25 Gold for 19,99€. I earned my money and more booking a trip to Berlin and back. Today I’m also traveling from Berlin to Leipzig and back for free, since DE won a gold medal yesterday. Whenever they win a gold I can travel anywhere in DE on the DB, even an ICE, for free! I won’t need the card once the 2 month period after purchase rolls over and I must pay the normal price monthly for the 25% Rabatt, but I have cancelled it already. I am happy about getting such a good deal. I love the trains and public trans here.

Not really...

Tonight I saw a fun movie, Die Ältern, with my German friend and I understood the fast moving dialog and jokes. And I‘m in a knitting group with German gals and am progressing well at making my first ever top-down sweater for me 3 year old grandson. I did myself a favor and got an English version of the pattern, but the gals help me in German. Nobody can accuse me of not trying to integrale.

After spending the last 40 years sans TV we decided to get one (48") so we could watch content like nature shows, documentaries, and certain films together and also with the Armenian Germericans (3, 6, & 9) when they visit. Our couch faces out to two walls of windows. So we bought a cool stand from a Danish company in order to be able to move it about in the living room. A German friend is coming by tomorrow morning to help with setting everything up. It all seems quite exciting.
