Schedeen is best known for her role as Kate Tanner on the NBC sitcom ALF, which ran from 1986 to 1990, and in which she portrayed a mother who takes an alien into her home.

In the early 90ties of the last century, Doom was a computer game that defined a mile stone in gaming.
It was not only the graphics that lifted PC based games to a new level, but also the quality of sound accompanying a game.
Sadly Bobby Prince, the composer behind the sound of Doom, died aged 81.

While doom, was indeed a great game, I still think Duke Nukum 3D out classed it in many ways, Ahh the early 1990's huge change's occurred.
Blakes 7 was a BBC sci-fi, drama, which had a huge following in the UK between 1979 and 1982, while the special effects were laughable and the video tape recording was always low quality, the hard stories always kept it interesting.

Anybody remember seeing it been shown in Germany?
A good trick to find out about the popularity of a British TV-show in Germany is to open its page on the English wikipedia and see if there is a link to a German version. Here, for example, shown for the TV show "Auf Wiedersehen, Pet":

So, "Auf Wiedersehen, Pet" is pretty much unknown in Germany (and it was never shown on the telly in Germany).
Now, let's look at "Blake's 7":

OK, it has a page on the German wikipedia!

There are two interesting things to see here:
1.) The line marked red says "There are four series in total, each comprising 13 episodes, none of which have yet been shown on German television".
2.) There is no article for the actor "Michael Keating" on the German wikipedia, so it appears as if he is pretty much unknown in Germany.
Nevertheless, maybe the purpose of this thread is also to inform about the demise of people famous in other parts of the world, that otherwise might go completely unnoticed in Germany.
Those were the days The Good life, very cute and funny

It was campy but fun, especially after the Birdcage movie. But after someone, who shall not be named, began using it, it lost its luster.

The SNL sketch may seem funny, but the reality is way more complicated, and that makes the song a NoGo for many of us. It was used at the inauguration in 2025 and will be used at July 4th events. https://www.nytimes.com/2026/07/01/us/p ... =url-share
