Just received my Einbürgerungstest results. Passed with flying colors. My German friend called me a Streber.

Haha, congratulations! That's a true German badge of honor. Being called a Streber is how you know you've genuinely impressed them.
Seriously though, well done on passing the test. It's a great feeling!

Cheers

I am happy today because I purchased my first two Christmas presents!!!

(nothing like starting early to spread the costs!)

Wait. Does "spreading the costs" make them less? Or does leaving the money in investments and buying on the last minute sales decrease the cost?

Of course not!
What I like to do is to buy presents that I know people will enjoy receiving, as and when I see them on sale.

I was really happy to have found something appropriate, but now, thanks to your comment, I am just sad and pissed off!
Do you even know how hurtful some of your comments are?!
Maybe you should realise that not everybody has a money tree in their garden, and some have to count every penny!

I'm terribly sorry that you were offended. I was only playing hence the laughing emoji.

I actually like doing the same as you, especially shopping sales.

I wish I did have a money tree in my garden. We are Rentner on a fixed income. Life is good, though. Don't have to be rich for that.

Please carry on with your very thoughtful shopping and enjoy it.

Again, I apologize. Thank you for being honest.
