Yes, choirs are great! I sing with my local choir and a smaller group and probably have sung going on for two hundred songs of all styles, all in the alto part. Got good at spotting archaic usages of the genitive in old songs. OH and I have long-service 'medals' !

Good headline in the paper:
https://www.theguardian.com/society/202 ... y-suggests
I won't bother reading the whole article, as I've been disappointed by that sort of thing before. Instead, I'll trust the headline tells me all I need to know, and shall assume it applies to consuming all fermented beverages (a positive mental attitude is doubtless also helpful). Very helpful for tonight's Maifest.

Happy today because it's already May, and this year, 2025, I have yet to add petrol to my car
Plus, gorgeous sunshine and spent few hours MTBiking in the lovely forest on our doorstep.
Afternoon a nap, family walk, and tidying the garden. If time, also jogging, but no time....

Happy today because shorty´s car got a new TÜV!!!!!
The car was actually purchased in 2019 by and for my boyfriends Father, at a price of less than €1000, and only intended for him to use to get to the local pub and back ( a round trip of less than 1 km!)
Well, the car is still up and going , six years later, and on Sunday I will drive it back to Shorty in Regensburg. Yahoo!!!

I'm happy because my best girlfriend came home after 2 week holiday. We went out for tapas and had a great catch-up. My friends are more important to me than ever.

An article was published in England (and online) today from Bad Muenstereifel's youngest budding sports journalist. I spend most of my time worrying about the academic difficulties with Kid 1, so I'm very happy (and proud) to have something more positive from Kid2. It is particularly pleasing because English is not Tom's first language:

Why do people use the car for journeys this short is something I will never understand.

You will when your joints will be really worn out.

When I am no longer fit for walking or cycle 1km, I also won't be fit to drive, or to be at the pub at all. This is what I meant.
But yeah, that's me, I guess others are different.

Bull!
I'm still fit to drive - for large and heavy purchases mostly (like Ikea), not the pub.
Otherwise, I drag myself along using public transport.

Either others are different or you are, Alberto.
