I hate the DB App and website
I hate the DB App and website
The following happened already many times to me
I try to buy a ticket, generally going to Italy either for Holiday, or visiting Mum, and the DB app or website simply does not tell me the price. So of course can't buy it.
I speculated it's because they need info from the Austrian or Italian system, and this is beyond their IT capability.
But now even worse. I want to travel, by train, between Pinneberg and Luebeck. This trip is within a single Bundesland. And DB just does not tell me the price. Even if I simplify the trip further, so Hamburg -> Luebeck, for which it's a single train wiith no change, they just don't tell me the price.
Morons, I hate them.
Comments?

Re: I hate the DB App and website
Have you tried turning on the toggle beside "Unsere Bestpreise anzeigen"?
Re: I hate the DB App and website
Yes, I have.
Or more correctly: I have when it's present (sometimes it's present, sometimes it isn't)
And it never helped

Re: I hate the DB App and website
Have you tried buying direct from the Verkehrsverbund (HVV?) rather than from DB?

You need to ask for a one-way ticket, it says so on the right:
- "Tickets für Verkehrsverbünde erhalten Sie bei Anfrage einer einfachen Fahrt"
- Tickets for public transport networks are available on request for a single journey

I could find those prices too, so maybe just a glitch? I have also managed to book trains with the "no price available" thingy by ringing someone, though it was a while ago, so forget how. For Austria, perhaps booking via OBB?

Re: I hate the DB App and website
It's because bicycle transport is not possible for this route
I think the problem here is the ICE+bicycle. If you change to local trains only, you get prices but it would take twice as long. Also if you take out the bike, you get prices for ICE as well.Re: I hate the DB App and website
I I take out the bicycle, it tells me transporting a bicycle on the ICE is actually possible.LeonG wrote: ↑Wed Jun 25, 2025 9:16 pm It's because bicycle transport is not possible for this route

But if I ask to take it, it says it is NOT possible.
I travel to Italy, normally 13hr with IC. Without IC I would have t spend a night in between, so depart morning, arrive afternoon next day. I travel this a few times a year to visit my old Mum, spending 1.5days each leg no thanks.

Re: I hate the DB App and website
In the general info on each leg, it says it is possible to travel with a bike but they have limited space so guessing that the ICE is full. If I put in another date, say Aug 5th, there is an option for a bike.Alberto wrote: ↑Wed Jun 25, 2025 10:48 pm I I take out the bicycle, it tells me transporting a bicycle on the ICE is actually possible.

Yes, I think this it.
Possible, provided they have not ran out of bicycle places.
Bad me, I should have taken action weeks ago.
I thought now over a month in advance was still plenty but no, too late.
Thanks a lot,
