Hello, after registering with my local Burgeramt and then applying to Immigration for a residence permit, it seems there is a wait of several months before being given an interview at the Immigration office.
Is it possible as a non-EU citizen to travel outside the EU during this waiting period or must I stay in Germany the whole time?
My concern is whether there might be problems to re-enter the EU if I had stayed in Germany longer than the 90 days permitted by Schengen.
Thank you.

Ask your Ausländerbehörde for a "Fiktionsbescheinigung" which will extend this period until they have decided on your residence permit: https://de-m-wikipedia-org.translate.go ... r_pto=wapp
