Re: Today's investment
I think your advisor is right
Buying index funds is a long term game.
On average you make 7 % a year
But you can lose lots in short term, just keep thing about the long term, if we live that long
Seriously, the markets went up far to much in the last years and now I expect lower performance for the next couple of years, hope not a crash

Re: Today's investment
Thanks for pointing this out. I was actually already very well aware of everybody's recommendation NOT to check the portfolio too frequently.
Yet I check it many times every day. More because I'm a data nerd, rather than I care about finances.
Perhaps I should stop....

When the seagulls follow the trawler, it's because they think sardines will be thrown into the sea.

it may well be difficult not to keep monitoring often, but that's not the reason I continue doing it.Eric7 wrote: ↑Wed Jan 15, 2025 10:08 amIt's difficult, especially with crypto where it can easily swing 5% in a matter of minutes.Alberto wrote: ↑Wed Jan 15, 2025 9:42 am Thanks for pointing this out.
