What is a suitable expression of 'Thank you' for legal support representing me in negotiating the MTA?

Anything that doesn't fit into the other subforums of German legalese, paper work, red tape

What is a suitable expression of 'Thank you' for legal support representing me in negotiating the MTA?

Post by RoboNova »

Hello,

I have recently concluded a negotiation of Mutual Termination Agreement with my employer, where I have extensively benefited from great legal support service of the lawyer I opted for. I am very grateful for all their support and effort, as well as pleased with the outcome of the negotiations.

Is it customary to express my gratitude in a more straightforward way? Would sending flowers or maybe something like a gift basket be preceived as too much, overstepping the professional relationship?

Additional context to this case - I have a legal insurance, which will cover the fees expenses, maybe that's why I also feel psychologically bit in debt towards the lawyers.

Thanks in advance for any comments and insights on this.

I can't see any problem with a nice non-financial gift that everyone in the office can share - lots of unacknowleged donkey work is done by the secretaries or whoever. Big flower arrangement + posh cake could hardly offend!
