Hello,
as seen above, we have water leaks going under the window. Wall under it is made out of some kind of plywood which will rotten and be destroyed if something is not done quickly. Plus, I already had to remove some mold buildup.
We are owners of the apartment. The hausverwaltung is informed of the problem, and they sent a team to check it.
Finding was that there is a problem with the window installation that happened well before we purchased the apartment 10 years ago.
It looks like that there are more apartments with similar issues so they are waiting for the Yearly owner's assembly to talk about issues. That will be in the end of July.
However, a Beirat member (owners management team) told me to be patient since they are trying to lower the number of issues so they can talk about them at the assembly. It doesn't make sense to me, but that is what I have been told.
Knowing history of how this Hausverwaltung operates, this whole thing will take well more than 3 months.
What can we do to make them react quicker? Having black mold on walls is a health hazard, plus damage is becoming bigger with every day passing and fix will be more expensive.
Thank you for your advice.
Nixon.

Do you know which other apartments are concerned? If you bundle your efforts, you stand stronger.

I would probably have it repaired before the damage gets worse causing more damage and then sue the HVW or whoever is liable for the shoddy work. It might be too late after more than 10 years, though.
Are you a member of the Hausbesitzer Verein or whatever it's called? If so you could ask them or consult a lawyer.

I am not a member, but asking rechtschutz versicherung might help. Thanks for reminding me.Fraufruit wrote: ↑Tue Jun 11, 2024 9:09 pm I would probably have it repaired before the damage gets worse causing more damage and then sue the HVW or whoever is liable for the shoddy work. And I will talk to the Beirat member that told me to be patient to see what really can be done.
