Eurovision Song Contest 2024 in Malmö

Post by PandaMunich »

The Grand Final will take place today 11. May 2024, at 9pm.
You can watch the live stream here:

Grand Final order of the songs: https://eurovision.tv/event/malmo-2024/grand-final
Links to all participants, including song lyrics and links to each song: https://eurovision.tv/event/malmo-2024/participants

I will be watching, like every year and will post a running commentary of my impressions of the songs.
I expect it to be as hilarious as every year - the Grand Prix Eurovision always delivers!

I took the liberty to move this topic to a new subforum called "Live events"...

Sweden

A bit of a forgettable song.
Generic pop song, nothing to make it "Eurovision".

Rapping about Mother Teresa - and they aren't even from Albania ;)
Ok, that was more eurovision-like :)

Germany

Yeah, he's on the run to last place.
Just like every year.

How difficult would it be to nominate someone who can actually sing?
And to give them a song that makes sense?

She can sing.
A combination of chanson and a bit that has been modernised.
I like it.

Israel

She can also sing.
But the tune isn't catchy.
And these background dancers can't really decide what style they should use, have spotted both ballet and break dance.

If you "go there to represent Germany", you're expected to score (by the Germans). If you do not score, you're "dead", you cannot even land a job as "a burger flipper" after that "blunder" .

Going to this contest is a job that no sane individual will accept.

Ooh, I like the sound of that wood instrument.
But they are shouting or talking, can't they sing?

Someone wants to compete with Germany for last place.
Yeah, let's press two completely different songs into one and alternate between them.

She does have a broad range in her voice, starting off with that falsetto...
But what is that metallic ballon-like bag she is wearing as a skirt?

These half naked dancers in a box (from the UK) reminded me of a "The blood hound gang" cover a long time ago...

Italy

Another one who thinks she can get away with speaking instead of singing.
That was not a song.
It's called the "Grand Prix Eurovision de la Chanson européenne"
