Weißwurst - how do you eat yours?
Well, this being the Southern Germany part, I guess everyone is familiar with Weißwurst, oder?
The Bavarians traditionally suck theirs, whereas the Preussen are known to cut them up to eat.
How do you eat yours, and what do you like to eat with them?
Do you follow the 11am "curfew"?

Interesting topic Rob. The Allgäuer is an odd duck indeed and how they eat Weißwurst is a part of that. Knife and fork and the time of day is pointless...however... no often found on menus for midday or evening meal. But eating it at or after midday on the weekends is ok.
I don't eat it that often. Once per year, most like. Aye, with a Butterbrezn und Weißbier. A rarity nonetheless.

I eat it regularly for breakfast on Sundays with lots of sweet mustard and Brezen. Definitely not after noon. I’m skinning too. I cut it almost in half and I push the meat with the knife out of the skin. Works well for me. In the past we did it in the office as well.

Oh you barbarians, a pox on your knifes and forks and people who skin their Weißwurst are Preiß´n! Regardless of where ever you come from
Weißwurst is eaten by taking the Weißwurst in your fingers, with skin, dipping it in Händlmayer sweet Senf and just biting. Enjoy the Knack of the skin giving way and the hot Wurst juices in your mouth, the texture and taste of biting into an intact Weißwurst is a whole new ballgame if you have, up until now, discarded the skin like a used condom pushed on the edge of your plate.
Round it off with a Butterbretz´n and a chugging dook of Weizen.
That my friends is the Himmel of the Bavarian.

We were taught by our Bavarian friends to slice it and peel it.
We can get the Weisswurst in the UK ( Aldi or Lidl), but not Händlmayer sweet Senf, hence why we brought 8 jars back with us in the summer
