Birth certificate with Elterngeld on it

Post by vryy »

I sent the application for Elterngeld with the specific birth certificate (Geburtsurkunde). This certificate is exclusively for Elterngeld application since it has the word "for Elterngeld" on it. For some reason, the document did not arrive so I lost this certificate. Now I apply it again and they said they need exactly this document. How can I get it back? Doing it online seems to return a normal birth certificate.

If "they" say they need a specific document, then ask them how to obtain it?

Email the 'Standesamt' from where you got the first one.
Tell them you need a 'Zweitschrift' of the 'Geburtsbescheinigung des Kindes (mit Verwendungszweck Elterngeld)' because the first one got lost.
They'll tell you what they need.
