How does one report this income from USA received recently (2025/2026) to the Finanzamt? "Blue Cross Blue Shield (BCBS) antitrust settlement, a reimbursement for overpaid health insurance premiums" (for years 2008-2020, a time period before moving to DE). My preliminary read is that since it is a sort of reimbursement of over payment it is not reportable in DE (but of course it is taxable in the US as ordinary income). Has anyone experience this scenario?
