Right, my oldest is currently living in the US as she is studying for her masters before returning back to Germany. I need to post something to her.... an old family item that does have a solid value, but also sentimental.
I've looked at various methods of posting this item, but with the wave of "porch pirates" I have my reservations.
I've also looked at UPS and DHL to send it... seems a wee risky.
Any of you have experience sending an item to the USA that gave you some peace as it traveled?
Thanks in advance.

Re: Posting an item of value to USA
I have no expertise, but I would guess you would need to ask your customer if she has a place nearby such as Fedex or DHL agent where she can pick it up. Probably simple in bigger places, but if she is out in the wop wops maybe more difficult. I hope the new tarrifs are not to hard for you to deal with.

Re: Posting an item of value to USA
I would have been happy to bring it and then mail it domestically for you on my recent trip. I’ll be going again in 6 months, but perhaps you need this done now. Depending on where exactly she lives maybe you can find a “private courier.” Of course, I don’t know how large this item is. You can also send it via UPS registered mail where someone has to sign for it.Bayrisch_Dude wrote: ↑Tue Oct 07, 2025 2:21 pm Right, my oldest is currently living in the US as she is studying for her masters before returning back to Germany. I'm also going but mailing it from here or from over there doesn't prevent porch pirates if that is a concern.
Is she by any chance close to Augusta, Ga or Columbia, SC?
