Well it used to be a milestone, but retirement age has shifted upwards. But I must admit I look much more like one of the scruffier of the Muppets' chooks, rather than Franklan's image. Ha.
Re: Why are you happy today?
Happy today because again I'm in the train heading to Tirol for a bicycle race
on Sunday. Whether forecast are good. The (cycling) distance, and the hills, are beyond my reach, but hey ho this is the beauty of it

Pity wife and daughter are away and couldn't make it. Instead my mum coming for the company.

What awesome news! So glad you followed Fraufruit's suggestion and gotyerass back over here in this thread Alberto!
I'm very happy, cuz I had my Telc-B1 Prüfung on Wednesday. It's over!
Results come in 4-6 weeks. Hubby and I fly to the US on Thursday for 3 weeks to visit friends and family and close out more business there. My 88 year old mother is doing well and is very excited that we are coming. Lots to be happy about and grateful for.

Re: Why are you happy today?
Just booked my flight home on Dec. 15! As much as I don't want to go to U.S., I'm psyched to see my son, family and friends!
Re: Why are you happy today?
Very happy for you!!
I'm happy today because "my girls", alias my wife and 15yo daugther, returned from Japan. We're back together after 6 long weeks. The younger one even went to school there, only the last 2 weeks, and it seems it was a very positive experience.

Here why I'm happy today.
Just harvested from the dwarf tree at the back of the garden, the one sandwiched between the tomatoes hochbeet, the one that every winter I think "it looks so old small and crappy that surely will not produce anything good and I better get rid of it....".
And now off to make apples compote.

Re: Why are you happy today?
I just saw some happy posts and despite some unpleasantness for me at the moment, there’s hopefully, always something to be happy about….I rescued this 50 year old monstera from my neighbour. New house owner threw it into his renovation trash pile so I ‘plant napped‘ it a few weeks ago during a very hot spell as he hadn’t been there for some time. Of course I owned up to the new neighbour as soon as I saw him again and said I’d give it back if he wanted it after I’d given it first aid. He said I should keep it. My reward is a huge new leaf
Happy too that kiddo is super happy after some major lows.

Re: Why are you happy today?
Just arrived back to ZRH and heading home to Konstanz after 18 days visiting friends and family in Chicago, Kansas, and Denver. We spent a good chunk of time with my mom, who’s 88. She was thrilled. Hadn’t been back for two years. Lots has changed since then, but thankfully our trip went well. So I’m grateful and happy. I really needed to see Mom.

Re: Why are you happy today?
I'm overcoming jet lag fairly easily. Got up and went with my walking group today at 8:30 (12:30 am in Colorado) and really enjoyed the brisk air and the fall colors. One thing I notice is that many people here complain about weather nonstop.
I mentioned what a lovely fall day it is and one gal responded with "I like fall too, but not when it just appears overnight, that's just too fast!" Well, I love my life here, weather and all, and I had a great trip visiting my friends and family, political situation and all. So there! I'm gonna keep on being happy, seeing the good in things, cuz it's just a healthier way to live IMO.
Happy to be back home, complaining friends and all.

Re: Why are you happy today?
Oh happy day!
Just got my Telc-B1 certificate in the mail, which I need for my citizenship application, and I made a "Sehr Gut" (97.5%). I'm just SO SO glad to have that behind me. I'm simply too old to take any more tests.

Re: Why are you happy today?
Today was a special run because for the first time I ran with my daughter.
That's why I'm happy.

Re: Why are you happy today?
Alberto, English is all about the fun, the flexibility, the power of word play, the double meanings (she loves her DIL like a daughter - this is the Happy thread). Let go of taking it all literally, as I must learn to do a bit more at times in another language, one that I love.
