I put Himself in the hospital yesterday. I feel greatly relieved - had been nursing him for almost 3 weeks. I won't go into details - lung and heart stuff - but am glad he is where he needs to be. He already has a treatment plan. He thought nothing would happen over Easter weekend.

Sorry to here he is poorly. My dad had habit of "not bothering" the doctors, to the point of terrifying all of us. I hope he gets better very soon.

At least he´s in the right place to get him sorted out now.

Oh dear. But to be clear, you have been suffering from painful symptoms?

There was some pain a while ago and that is what took me to the doctor and then the scan. But since then , nothing. If the pain comes back again , I will have the gall bladder removed.

Many men do not go the the doctor when they should. I was like that when I was younger. Now I do not hesistate. It helps to have free check ups of one sort or another.

Internet problems are obviously nothing in the grand scheme of things, especially compared to health issues etc.

However.... I have a non-update.

As I wrote before, since last Monday evening (14.04.2025), the performance of our Glasfaser dropped from over 600 Mbp/s to under 400 kbit/s.

The service chap was here last Thursday (16.04.2025) and could not solve the problem, escalating it to a higher level.

On Saturday (18.04.2025) I again spoke to the hotline and was told that the error was still being processed and that if by Tuesday (22.04.2025) there was no solution, I was entitled to a "Fast Start Router" to receive internet over LTE until the problem was solved. I should go to any Telekom shop, show them the ticket number and would be given a this router.
On Tuesday (22.04.2025) I was first at a Telekom shop where I was told that they had no routers in stock and then at a 2nd Telekom shop where I was told that they were not allowed to give out the Fast Start routers to Glasfaser customers and that the hotline had to send it directly to me.

I then spoke to the hotline again and was told that was incorrect. However, the hotline was also not allowed to send me a router because the Glasfaser connection is technically still delivering internet - 400 kbit/s - even if it is not fast enough to use for anything.

It's not all bad news though, the hotline offered my a €20 Gutschein for my troubles!

Still waiting for a solution, using my handy as a hotspot, trying to upload gigabytes of data for a work project.

I get lots of flyers in my mail box, despite having 2 stickers on the flap which clearly state no flyers and no free newpapers. Can´t people read or do they just ignore my instructions?

I got into hospital on a really short notice, couldn't really pack a decent suitcase for the upcoming days. Anyway, there is that nurse that I really fancy and I felt the need to shave my private parts. Lacking a handheld mirror I used the camera and screen of my mobile phone to improvise. It all worked well until I started to get likes on facebook.

Today I'm not happy because I am preparing for the colonoscopy tomorrow.
It means I am fasting - and dying of it - and drinking a disgusting substance.
I normally eat 5 times every day, and I eat more than anyone. I never fasted, and I expected it to be hard. And it is hard.
It' only 16:30, last food was breakfast at 9am straight after 20km cycling and 2km swimming.
Having to fast also means that I refrain from doing things that cost energy and would make me hungry.
Basically, doing nothing, getting bored and feeling useless...
