Re: Why are you happy today?
I have been volunteering my time and expertise to help a friend of my husband's 16 year old daughter, who has autism, prepare a written/oral presentation about Harry Potter for an English exam in the Realschule. Before retiring from my career as a Speech & Language Therapist in the US this type of thing was part of my professional life. Working with this young lady again today made me feel very happy. It got the creative juices flowing and I love seeing her progress.

Today I became a German citizen, regained my EU citizenship, and was also allowed to vote in the German Federal Election after presenting the Wahlamt with my Einbürgerungsurkunde.

Re: Why are you happy today?
Thanks. I was also allowed to retain my British citizenship. Considering the next government may attempt to reverse the new nationality laws, I've potentially been very lucky to fall within a short window where dual citizenship is possible.
