Re: donating drugs

Not an official thing, but some doctors will take some medication back - I was once given a half-used pack of tablets by my GP, and also a prescription for more.
It might be worth asking.

Re: Problems in Supermarkets in Germany

Either way, the "be two customers" hack doesn't affect anyone, your number of customers per minute stats don't change because there are twice as many transactions. Actually, it does, since it goes by the number of items scanned per hour, and cashing-up takes time. As some of you may know,...

Re: Problems in Supermarkets in Germany

My trick: every 4th or 5th item on the conveyor should be something the cashier has to weigh. It works so well that I'm often waiting for the cashier to continue scanning items. I wonder if you folks even know that staff in certain stores get a written warning if they are "too slow" on th...

In Germany, the actual contract of sale takes place at the checkout - so whatever price is shown by the scanner is the current price for an item.
It isn´t good, but something to be aware of.

Re: Problems in Supermarkets in Germany

It is my decision not to bring myself in a situation where a discussion about this can be started. Absolutely! The bottom line is that we all want a quiet life, and to be able to go shopping without any bother. Unfortunately, due to some other people abusing the system, one has to be very careful w...

Hope you had a good one!

Re: Gardening

Is just me to prefer a wild garden? Better for the Umwelt, for my time schedule. And I also find it better looking. Definitely with you one that! Last week I finally mowed the lawn for the first time this year -amazing how much bigger the garden looks now! We also want to trim the bushes and small ...

Well, after thunder storms last night, and a bit of an overcast but humid day, the air has finally cleared and we have a nice, relatively cool evening - lovely!!!

Re: Gardening

Ah, yes, I see the problem now! I think you should definitely go for constructing something yourself, but possible using materials purchased through Kleinanzeigen or something like that - definitely cheaper than buying new. If you were a little closer, I would give you some of our plants, as we have...

Re: Why are you unhappy today?

To add something on topic, today I'm unhappy because I've messed up a chance at, at least a good friendship, but also possibly more. And that reminds me how tired I am of having to be the only one who looks after me. At least there's still chocolate. ;) Yes, and I`m unhappy that it´s become so bloo...

Re: Why are you unhappy today?

I returned from holiday few days ago and found over 70% of my loved tomato plants severely suffered from blight. No way to rescue them. Soooooooooooooo sad. Not happy. Sorry to hear you are having a bad tom year! Most of ours are under the balcony, so have quite some protection from the elements - ...

Re: Why are you happy today?

Wait. Does "spreading the costs" make them less? Of course not! What I like to do is to buy presents that I know people will enjoy receiving, as and when I see them on sale. I was really happy to have found something appropriate, but now, thanks to your comment, I am just sad and pi...

I am happy today because I purchased my first two Christmas presents!!!

Re: Gardening

Need some advice on this one please! Our house runs parallel to the road, with the carpentry workshop door at one end, and the house door at the other. The workshop door is the first one you reach as you come onto the property. At the other end of the house, about 3 meters from the house door, and t...

Re: Whats up in the South?

We are on our way back home to Konstanz after 2 weeks at the Bauernhof in Bayern and we just stopped at Cafe Huttner at Inning am Ammersee. Doesn’t @Robinson100 or another of you live near or on that lake? Inning seems very nice although I wish we had had time to actually see the lake. We decided t...
