Re: Real estate investment in germany

From what I`ve heard, renting out a furnished flat is the best option, as the rules and regulations are more relaxed.
However, I am not an expert in the field!

Re: Gardening

Gardening-wise, anyone planted tomatoes or anything else inside yet? Anyone ever done parsnips at all? Planted my toms last Thursday, and now have them sat on a sunny windowsill downstairs. I generally plant them at the beginning of March, but I got a bit enthusiastic this year! As for parsnips - t...

I bought once a sleeping sofa and mattress at Höffner and it was delivered to my home free of charge. They also took my old sofa and mattress. Free of charge as well. I don’t think IKEA offers similar service.
Ikea does do deliveries, but at a price.

Re: Where is the mobilen Bürgeramt des Bezirksamts Mitte von Berlin?

I like that concept, because it gives people who are no longer very steady on their feet (or do not own a car) the opportunity to get there without much effort, because they can go to a place nearby rather than a place centralized and overcrowded. If you read the link, you can actually have a home ...

Re: Present recommendations to take to America

Some good ideas coming in here, thanks!
Does anybody know which foodstuffs one can import, and which are forbidden? It´d be a pity to try taking something that then gets confiscated!

Present recommendations to take to America

Hi guys, just a quick question here: A friend of mine recently married an American, and she will be traveling to the States at the end of February to meet his family for the first time. He has already taken back beer krugs, so do you have any other recommendations as to what would be appropriate? Th...

Re: C24 Bank €125 bonus

Thanks M.
Yes, the code is already visible on my bank account site - it is just the moving the account part that really isn´t working at the mo.
I`ll try it again tomorrow afternoon and see if it works then.
Thanks for your tips!

Re: C24 Bank €125 bonus

Okay, so I spent two days trying this, and in the end I have a new bank account, but not bonus for opening it, or transferring an account over to it.
They would not accept an old Tagesgeld account, so I totally missed out there :-(

Re: C24 Bank €125 bonus

Maybe I am just too stupid for this, but I have set up an account with check 24.
Now I don´t know how to get to the offer, and to have it accepted - anybody care to point me in the right direction?

Re: What are you cooking today?

Well, it started yesterday, actually, but we had lentil and tomato soup for lunch - homemade, of course, with a BBC recipe: https://www.bbc.co.uk/food/recipes/lentil_and_tomato_soup_19393 - sooooo easy to cook, and so wonderfully gloopy!!! Anyway, since we only have one portion left for today, I am ...

October 31 1975: Release of the single "Bohemian rhapsody" by Queen. Yes, you have made us all feel old, but hey, wouldn´t it be great to get us all singing along to it, and maybe make a recording of the whole song together? - naturally with a bit of "tweaking" to make it half-w...

Re: Why are you happy today?

Happy today because my wife got the letters from the DE Rentenversicherung (& the TK) that as of 1st November she is a Rentner . Because she was a stay-at-home mum (politically incorrect) her pension is not massive but still welcome. Somewhat amazed since we only submitted the Antrag 5 weeks ag...
