Re: My Photovoltaikanlage
When we installed our PV, the company was somewhere else, their guys came from outside. So I don't entirely agree that your location matters. But maybe I'm wrong... 3.5keur for a battery is a third of what we were quoted a while back, and also less than I would have guessed today. Still overpriced f...

Re: I hate the DB App and website
In the general info on each leg, it says it is possible to travel with a bike but they have limited space so guessing that the ICE is full. If I put in another date, say Aug 5th, there is an option for a bike. Yes, I think this it. Possible, provided they have not ran out of bicycle places. Bad me,...

Re: I hate the DB App and website
It's because bicycle transport is not possible for this route Screenshot 2025-06-25 210720.png I think the problem here is the ICE+bicycle. If you change to local trains only, you get prices but it would take twice as long. Also if you take out the bike, you get prices for ICE as well. I I take out...

Re: question on our UK let
Will she be entitled to some kind of maintenance from the husband? I think if her income alone won't be enough, you would be justified in asking that question. Fair. And of course I don't know her income. The referencing was done, at the time, for the couple. But what I'm not comfortable with is: i...

question on our UK let
we let our UK house. Good agents, good tenants. Sadly the couple split. The woman is staying in the house with the children. Now the contract is due to renew. The agents says if this woman were to apply now, her income would not pass the references. I understand it's now become much more likely she ...

Tablet computer please
I am on the market for a new Tablet computer. For teen daugther, taking notes at school (ok, doesn't make too much sense right now because Ferien are starting soon, but still....), drawing arts etc, and the usual. It must have 11-inches screen (well, 10.5 would do), and palm rejection. Maybe you bou...

Re: My Photovoltaikanlage
Do you mean the current price is too high or the one from a few years ago? I meant the one from the past, seems too high for me but maybe I'm wrong. I have not looked at PV prices in a while. Good luck with the project in any case. And please keep us posted, if you don't mind, I always find PV inte...

Re: My Photovoltaikanlage
I agree that 64 panels and a 30kw battery is large for a private household. Did you shop around? I ask because this quotation seems surprisingly overpriced. No Akku though, they were ca 1.1-1.2 k€/kWh. Our 2019 system was 13k€, ca 9.5kWp, and posh WR. And we should have been relatively more expensi...

Re: My Photovoltaikanlage
No problem at all, happy to share Three years ago I was quoted 34k for approximately 28 panels and a 10kw battery. A few weeks ago I was quoted just under 20k for 22 panels and a 10kw battery. I think the earlier quote also included one of those charging points for the car (they used to be subsidis...

Re: My Photovoltaikanlage
Three years ago I was quoted 34k for approximately 28 panels and a 10kw battery. Did you shop around? I ask because this quotation seems particularly high. Our 2018 quotation was ca 13k€ for 27modules, 9.5kWh and posh WR. No Akku though, Akku price we're ca 1k€/1kWh. So like for like we paid less, ...

Re: My Photovoltaikanlage
The prices for PV have really dropped. I didn't look much into this, but when I did, some years after we ordered our PV and everybody say saying "cost of PV went down", it turned out they actually went up, not down! We paid ca 1300 eur/kWp (this includes posh WR, and installation). How mu...

Re: My Photovoltaikanlage
We have received a quote to have PV installed, plus a 30KW Battery. The PV would consist of 64 panels. Is it a "normal" household? Or some business that consume much electricity, at night? 30kW is not a metric for batteries, did you perhaps mean 30 kWh? 30 kWh sounds incredibly oversized....

Re: Getting a Deutschlandticket just for one month
Talk about mistakes, I know someone who bought D Ticket for a 20 year old at full price via DB, not realising BW offers a discount. Many states do, some more generous than others. Hamburg is generous, 19 for schoolkids, 34.80 until 21 (until 27 if you can prove you are studying). LIve and learn. HH...

Re: Getting a Deutschlandticket just for one month
Ouch, I was missing the fact that the DT must be canceled by the 10th of the previous month. My wife bought the June DT ticket on 14.6 for a family trip, and now we're stuck with July too. This very German way that everything is subscription based, and on purposely difficult to cancel, is extremely ...
