Re: I hate the DB App and website

I I take out the bicycle, it tells me transporting a bicycle on the ICE is actually possible. But if I ask to take it, it says it is NOT possible. I travel to Italy, normally 13hr with IC. Without IC I would have t spend a night in between, so depart morning, arrive afternoon next day. I travel thi...

Re: I hate the DB App and website

It's because bicycle transport is not possible for this route

I think the problem here is the ICE+bicycle. If you change to local trains only, you get prices but it would take twice as long. Also if you take out the bike, you get prices for ICE as well.

Re: Getting a Deutschlandticket just for one month

Ouch, I was missing the fact that the DT must be canceled by the 10th of the previous month. My wife bought the June DT ticket on 14.6 for a family trip, and now we're stuck with July too. This very German way that everything is subscription based, and on purposely difficult to cancel, is extremely...

Re: Getting a Deutschlandticket just for one month

I also have problems with the app. I would appreciate knowing the cost of a ticket from Passau HBF to München HBF on June 22nd. I get 29€, which means a RT ticket just hits the 58€ DE ticket price. Before pulling the trigger for the DE ticket I would like to be sure the 29€ is correct. Since the DE...

How about one of these? No motor, easy set up, easy cleaning.

Re: Utility readings rant

I can’t get the gas supplier to reduce my monthly payments for my mum‘s former home. They still insist on charging me 250€ per month despite only frost protection since last October and completely switched off since end of March. I’m still having to pay the amount my mum used to to super heat her h...

Re: What got you flummoxed today?

Yes! Weirdy weirdo vibes. No-one should be trying to see you inside your home unless they think your life is at risk. I remember stories of your close-by neighbours from the past. Strange people, calling the police and taking out court orders against each other, if memory serves. I'd say get blinds...

Re: Why are you unhappy today?

I got into hospital on a really short notice, couldn't really pack a decent suitcase for the upcoming days. Anyway, there is that nurse that I really fancy and I felt the need to shave my private parts. Lacking a handheld mirror I used the camera and screen of my mobile phone to improvise. It all w...

Re: What got you flummoxed today?

I got this neighbour, I don't know exactly where she lives or her name but she walks past my house every day on her way to work. Initially she started talking to me because of my cat who since died. Another neighbour told me that she had asked him if anybody still lived in my house and that she want...

They probably have the money and they are not getting 8% on it in the bank. I would say no to them. You're not getting 8% in the bank either. Also there might be some sort of obscure law you don't know about. In Iceland, if you pay in advance, you gain the right to stay 4 times as long with the same...

Re: Why are you unhappy today?

And now another health problem. Should I have my gall bladder removed? I had a recent ultra scan and was told my gall bladder was full of gall stones. Removing the organ was a recommendation. I will probably get it removed soon as I can function pretty well without it. People who have had it remove...

Re: What got you flummoxed today?

I do not understand the logic of banning someone from being in a particular county of UK (for 3 months) after he was caught shoplifting. Seems to be homeless. I would think having him stay in his usual hangout would make it easier to police him? Also, over 200 GBP worth of Cadbury Creme Eggs. Also,...

Having a valid travel document plus visa if you need it is not a guarantee to get into any country. It's always up to the discretion of the visa officer. Previously they might have kept people in airport jail and put them on the next flight home but I'm reading now that people are sent into ICE dete...

Re: Why are you unhappy today?

Who else here was hesitant to give up their car, and after ditching it has actually no regret? I was. I tried public transport and found it good enough. Sure, you have to calculate a bit more time sometimes. One of my friends lives in a village with bad public transport so instead of visiting them,...

I know a couple who are vegetarian for the most part and I've tried some of the fake meat and it really wasn't too bad. I think it took some trial and error to find the good brands though.

Re: Extra bill from electrician - legal?

Re: Extra bill from electrician - legal?

What I don't understand is that they gave us an ANGEBOT NOT KOSTENVORANSCHLAG. So if they estimate too less to get the contract they can just stiff it up to the customer? Yes, kind of. There is also a possibility that the estimate was too high and your bill ends up being lower. Did you sign off on ...
