Re: On this day, ...
I was the speech therapist at a junior high school in Lawrence, KS and I got there about 10:15 am (9:15 on the east coast) and a kid came up to me and said "Mrs.B., planes are flying into buildings in NY and fire and explosions are happening!" and I responded with "You shouldn't make a joke like ...

That's awesome Miss Bitt. Care to share where you found the deal? I've been looking for flights home for the holidays and the prices are brutal.
I booked a multi-city RT with Swiss and fly ZRH-BOS and return DEN-BOS-ZRH. That’s very convenient for me, since I don’t need to stay in Boston on the ...

Yesterday, no kidding, I got online to look at tickets to fly across the pond. And, I got a stinkin' good deal to fly nonstop to Boston this coming Tuesday and stay a few days with my uncle. Then I head to Denver to see my 89 year old mother and my sister and nephews and offspring for 8 days ...

The mind reels sometimes.

An American treasure, Wendell Berry, has passed. His poem The Peace of Wild Things, among many, is exquisitely beautiful.

My Armenian-Germerican grandchildren (3,7, and 10) are culturally and linguistically Armenian, as is their mother. They were born and are being raised in Yerevan and have thus far not set foot in the US, but via my son have US passports. This affords them privileges, like automatic 90-day stays in ...

It’s finally raining way down yonder, for the day supposedly. This girl from New Orleans loves the sound of rain. Sittin‘ on the balcony, sippin‘ my brew, and lovin‘ it.

AFAIK Trump wants to strip certain naturalized US citizens of their US citizenship, not eliminate dual. We paid attention, since Hubby is naturalized, but we are no longer worried. It‘s the rightwing nut job, Bernie Moreno, who proposed the no-dual citizenship law. Trump didn’t say boo about that ...

We bought a new toy last Thursday, a Philips combination air fryer and steamer. It’s our first air fryer, which seems to be all the rage among my friends. We have the space for it in the kitchen and can now avoid heating up our oven (not fun in the summer). We are learning how it works by trying ...

It finally rained today in Konstanz, albeit not a lot. The river, and the lake, are both SO dry. It's painful to see the proliferation of algae and the corresponding effects on local wildlife. We desperately need rain.

Gonna drop here gradually this coming week too. We head to Naxos, Greece for the annual family multigenerational beach vacation in a week. So, … it has been cooler there all summer than here, often not above 30. Hubby and I and hubby‘s brother from NY are all psyched, while the crew from 🇦🇲 has to ...

Well, it's been very hot way way down yonder again. The Bodensee is really dry. I went walking from 7:30-9 this morning with a friend to beat the heat. Afternoons are a bear, and when the 17 year old pooch needs a midday potty break I take him along the tree-lined streets and check the asphalt as ...

Thinking about yesterday evening and our lovely sunset sail on the Bodensee. Friends gifted it to hubby for his 75th, and it was so peaceful and cool out there last night. We got home at 10:45 pm and I slept like a baby. Gotta smile and be glad for friends, nature, and nice experiences.

Today my son and I and the 2 grandkids who are 7 and 10 were trying to explain to the 3,5 year old about how he was connected to Mama via the umbilical cord, and he just wasn’t getting it. Oma had the brilliant idea to demonstrate it using an iPhone charging cord connecting him to Mama. :D Then the ...

Yesterday we had our annual Hausfest im Hof. We live in a 5-story renovated house from 1910. Each story is its own apartment. 17 people attended (2 teens were off doing their thing, as well as 2 young adults who on are on their new journeys). Six nationalities were represented: Armenia, (our 2 older ...

Re: What Made You Laugh Today
Sorry, but on 6/20/26 I was clearly having a senior moment. You are correct, but that day I could only think of myself, the teacher, as having said "I had you in my class/classroom." Scary indeed!
