Re: DB again...

Several of us have bemoaned experiencing various DB app problems. Happy to report that for some reason unbeknownst to me my app on the smartphone is no longer screwy. Sittin’ on the train from Konstanz-Radolfzell-Friedrichshafen with a digital ticket and correct pricing. 👏 May this positive turn of ...

Re: Gardening

we´ll start small and get a lock fitted on the garden gate! Still, it´s a pain in the neck!!! And downright disappointing that people behave so rudely. My idea was also to put up a sign. BTW, my bike parked out front of my house, near downtown, often has people throwing trash and bottles in my bask...

Re: German word of the day

I recently perused ARD Mediathek for something in German to watch and stumbled upon “Tatort Therapie” thinking this was something to do with watching Tatort Krimis for a bona fide therapeutic reason, which of course had me slightly puzzled. 😂 Upon reading the summary I realized it’s a documentary ab...

Re: Whats up in the South?

We are on our way back home to Konstanz after 2 weeks at the Bauernhof in Bayern and we just stopped at Cafe Huttner at Inning am Ammersee. Doesn’t @Robinson100 or another of you live near or on that lake? Inning seems very nice although I wish we had had time to actually see the lake. We decided to...

Re: avoiding the middle of the day

It is a bit too hot for me these past few days. I now avoid going out between 11 and 3. I lie on my bed with a cooling fan near my head and simply read or listen to the BBC World Service. I would normally go to the gym at about 1 as it breaks the day nicely up. Now I go early in the morning. Even t...

Re: Getting a Deutschlandticket just for one month

Considering the fact that the DE ticket also covers the bus in Passau, the U-Bahn and S-Bahn in Munich and will be valid for other tickets from today till the end of the month (if you book it today), I would go for the DE ticket. I took a beautiful hour long walk up and down, in the middle of nowhe...

Stuff didn’t go by the plan 🤷🏼‍♂️
There were just four of us. Sorry you couldn’t make it. It was a pleasant day with lovely weather, good food and drink, and nice company. 😊

Re: Bombing of Iranian nuclear facilities

Conflicting reports as to how much damage was actually caused. Obviously the orange buffoon is claiming "complete obliteration" but two of the facilities were only attacked with Tomahawks which wouldn't have done anything more than surface damage. I also have my doubts about the capabilit...

Re: hTTi Meetup in Munich June 22, 2025

Beautiful day on the Bodensee. We just drove off of the Konstanz-Meersburg ferry and are on our merry way over to Bayern. The Armenian-Germericans (now 5 & 8) can’t wait to get to the Bauernhof in Windpassing. See y’all tomorrow. 😃

Well, I listened, and thx for the ℹ️. Still, where are the proofreaders? (nations flag 🤦‍♀️) Who can miss that on some official tweet?

And an apostrophe is missing in “nations” 😬 If this is a real DoD post I find that to be an abomination. BTW, I feel the zone is so flooded now that I generally assume this stuff is fake until I can prove it’s true. 😔

Re: Getting a Deutschlandticket just for one month

Thx for that. :D. I had seen the Ticket+ app, but they don't allow the pause function in month 1 like this app. So, I did just set up the mo.pla app for June 2025 and am good to go. I can use the DE Ticket this coming Tuesday on a RT Konstanz-Singen trip and for my RT from Passau-München commencing ...

Re: Getting a Deutschlandticket just for one month

Thx for your thoughtful input. I realize there are other uses which I may or may not need and the virtue of the flexibility. I just don’t necessarily trust the 29€ figure since the app tells me it costs 27€ to go from Konstanz to Singen, which it doesn’t. Hence for that route I just research the sch...

Getting a Deutschlandticket just for one month

I also have problems with the app. I would appreciate knowing the cost of a ticket from Passau HBF to München HBF on June 22nd. I get 29€, which means a RT ticket just hits the 58€ DE ticket price. Before pulling the trigger for the DE ticket I would like to be sure the 29€ is correct.

Re: question regarding travel health insurance

I have an ongoing travel insurance. Close friends of ours run a satellite branch of Hanse Merkur here for travel insurance. I would suggest asking someone you know who may have a reputable agent to recommend who can answer your questions from this end. What the school requires should be directed to ...

Re: The Weather

We are finally having rain on and off here way down yonder, but what we really need is at least a few days of downpour. The water levels in the Rhein and the Bodensee are abysmal and the shoreline everywhere has receded like crazy. This has made life especially complicated for the waterfowl. It's am...
