Re: AOK S1
The relevant legislation is https://www.legislation.gov.uk/eur/2004/883/article/24/adopted "1. A person who receives a pension [...] under the legislation of [the UK] and who is not entitled to [healthcare] under the legislation of [Germany] shall nevertheless receive such [healthcare] for hims...

Re: Can British citizens travel to the UK using a non-British passport?
Because you can't - simple as that. You could of course renounce your British citizenship but that would be a bit of overkill. And don't forget that if you have kids who are British by birth, whether born in the UK or to a British parent abroad, then they too have dual nationality if they have Germa...

Re: UK State pension/DE DRV when divorcing
If your current UK pension forecast is less than £230.25 then you don't have and cannot not generate a protected payment.

Re: UK State pension/DE DRV when divorcing
I assume you reach UK pension age after 5 April 2016 and current husband has no UK entitlement. If so, your new state pension remains personal to you and would not (under UK law) feature as an asset in the divorce. However, if you are entitled to a "protected payment" because at 5 April 20...

Re: Can British citizens travel to the UK using a non-British passport?
You have an ETA in your passport at the moment but the rules change on 25 February. As you cannot (from that date at least) get an ETA as a British citizen, then that ETA will presumably be invalid from that date. The guidance is clear about what is needed from 25 Feb. Whether you choose to ignore i...

Re: Entering UK for dual citizens new regulations
I think it's MUST, not should. As a dual citizen, you are not allowed to apply for an ETA for your other passport and cannot enter the UK on it without an ETA, so you MUST use your UK (or Irish as the case may be) passport.

Re: Can British citizens travel to the UK using a non-British passport?
The article is true and the GOV UK guidance is absolutely clear. You can of course do what you like but don't complain if you are denied entry if you turn up without a valid UK passport.

I read it simply as "You need to use a valid British (or Irish) passport", so no more entering the UK on your other passport...

Re: Can British citizens travel to the UK using a non-British passport?
I think you all need to read the guidance again. https://www.gov.uk/guidance/electronic-travel-authorisation-eta-guide-for-dual-citizens "You cannot get an ETA if you are a dual citizen with either: British citizenship Irish citizenship " From 25 February you will need to use a valid Briti...

Re: question on our UK let
A good tenant is worth their weight in gold and if she is as good as you say, then I would be minded to try to keep her despite the risks. But think of it from her perspective too. If she worries that she might go into arrears that could change her approach to many things and she could become a not-...

Re: Any risks in being executor of my UK parents will
The Executor is a legal person and as such I would suggest opening an Executor or Trustee account with whichever bank. All estate income and funds should go into that account, so you can account for any IHT (sounds like none) and any Income Tax that may fall due if the administration takes a while.

Re: Including English working years in German pension insurance
Then I think that all you need to do is look at the combined schedule and count the months (1 day "occupied" in a month makes the whole month count) to see how that compares with expectations, with the numbers in the summary and with what that means going forward.

Re: Including English working years in German pension insurance
Have fun working through the maths - does your head in - but it means for you that the amount of pension does not change under the EU aggregation calculation, other than the fact that if you needed 35 years, you would qualify under that but not necessarily using your domestic record.

Re: Including English working years in German pension insurance
Sounds like they may have changed the format or something - who knows. So the pages that follow - do they give your the 2 calculations "innerstaatliche" and "zwischenstaatliche"? If so, at the moment they can only be based on normal pension age with 5 years minimum. Do they show ...

Re: Including English working years in German pension insurance
I am not sure what that schedule actually is because there is a difference between your actual German record and your aggregated record used to do the zwischenstaatliche Berechnung. I cannot log into the system and, of course, already have my pension but everything I ever received had a list of that...

Re: Including English working years in German pension insurance
A few months ago I received a letter from the German Pension Insurance authority asking me to provide information about the missing years in my pension history. These were years I was studying and working in the UK (I am a British citizen). I sent them as much proof as I could, and also gave them m...

I think you are confusing the state pension with other pension saving options. You can simply have your state pension paid into whichever bank you want in £/$/€

Re: State Pension payments to Germany
In my opinion you are better off making voluntary NI payments. Because you are working abroad you should only have to category 2 payments which are currently £3.50 per week. Look on the Gov.UK for how to do this. By doing this you can build up right to both a german pension and UK pension. That is ...

Re: State Pension payments to Germany
You cannot transfer the state pension but when it is payable you can have it paid into any account in £ or €.
Private pensions are a different matter.
