Re: Attractive discounts

Height adjustable (electric motor!) desks at Amazon. Very good prices, different sizes available. I have one of these already and can recommend.

Re: What are you watching right now?

I recntly ballsed up all my dodgy UK connections when VPN failed. But have something to watch that will keep me occupied until I figure out how to hoodwink them all again. I am not sure if you're talking about social connections or technical connections. If it is the later, I certainly might be abl...

Re: What are you watching right now?

Sadly, it is not the master piece from the 1970ies... :-( I loved that one... But one question is left, how did you manage to watch it in/select English? The only option ard.de offers to me is German (and, yes, German subtitles)? Yes. It’s a remake. And I enjoy both versions. Es ist so schön in den D...

Re: What are you watching right now?

All Creatures Great and Small (Der Doktor und das liebe Vieh), the Masterpiece Series from 2020, is currently available for streaming by ARD 1 and can be watched in the original English or, as I am doing, in German. 😊 BTW Both versions are available with subtitles too. Sadly, it is not the master p...

Re: The one favourite childhood soul food - recipe

Ah, you’re right, just had a flashback….indeed, it was boiled beef. I bought a big piece years ago wanting to make roast beef and Yorkshire puddings. Ended up making a Hairy Bikers pot roast casserole recipe instead…..with Yorkshire puddings 😊 If you actually plan to grate the horse radish on your ...

Re: The one favourite childhood soul food - recipe

Homemade warm horseradish sauce... with boiled potatoes and roast beef. Are you sure it was roast beef? A very typical German recipe is Tafelspitz mit Meerrettichsoße (English wikipedia is here , also explaining the type of meat used). I’m sure she added flour and cream Sure she did. Just like the ...

Re: German residence, US credit card and mail-forwarding

As my move to DE grows nearer, I'm wondering what to do about my US credit cards. Perhaps I will want to get new ones in DE, but it would be nice not to have to do so immediately, when I must attend to other pressing matters. The employer wants to see a German bank account (or at least a European o...

You might want to read this. It is from "Techniker Krankenkasse", the only German health insurance to have customer support in English available.
